For this layout Marni chose to look at the little touches around her house that make it a home. These touches reflect who her husband and her self are, and their taste in regards to decorating. To do this Marni went around her house and randomly took pictures of some of her favourite bit and pieces, then she used these pictures to create a block of photos that strech from one corner of her layout to the other.
Marni chose a light and colourful scheme for this layout. Her main focal point is the Micheal Miller Memories flower in the right hand corner. She made a frame for the flower by tracing around it onto the Micheal Miller Memories fabric paper and then cut the design out. Marni also made her own button for the centre of the flower from a Heidi Swapp chipboard circle and some more fabric papers and she completed the button by punching some holes in it and sewing the button to the flower. Marni's titles are always wordy and this layout is no exception. She used a combination of Li'l Davis architect letter stickers combined with BasicGrey letter stikers to create the larger part of the title but used Scenic Route chipboard letters to make the most important word in her title stand out.
For the theme "At Home", Tamar will celebrate parts of her home or things in her house that makes her happy - places she is everyday or things she uses everyday.
This first layout incorporates some lovely Michael Miller Fabric and flowers. Tamar has used the onsert from this months For Keeps Magazine as a mat and a 12x12 piece of sheer Swiss Dot Michael Miller fabric layered over the top of the SEI softy pink cardstock. This mimics the softness of the room photo. Rather than use a traditional method of sewing, Tamar decided to attach the voile with brads to give a seamless look to the background. Tamar wanted an uncluttered layout so the journaling is hidden behind the photo inside a Heidi Foto Folder.
One of Rach's little rituals each night is bath time. Usually it is Megan alone, but every so often when we have guests or go out she gets to share bath time, and for her it is so much fun, so Rach wanted to capture how much she enjoys it with this layout.
Note how Rach has used the bathroom colours like the blue for water, white for clean and the textured background is also like a towel, but the velvet both adds a warm colour and a warmth in the texture which adds balance to the whole layout. The buttons add to the fun of the layout.
Rach has created this whole layout using a thick Michael Miller Fabric, there is no cardstock or paper used on this layout.
This is Mel's family coat rack, but they chose to use it for hats instead. These hats make Mel smile and every one has a little story behind it. Mel's 10 year olds favourite toddler hat has the moo-cows (as he likes to call them). Mel's Husband's hat is from his snow boarding days. Bella's pink fluffy hat that they brought her back from a trip away.. the list goes on. The coat rack itself was a gift for Mel from her brother and his wife about 10 years ago, and it has followed then from house to house over the years, always having pride of place in the entry or hallway for their home.
Mel has chosen a selections of papers from a range of different brands for this layout including Junkitz, BasicGrey, Sassfras Lass and the Michael Miller Memories fabric, all in different shades of pink to represent the pink hat that is in the centre of the photo. Mel has cut out a large photo corner from the Michael Miller Memories fabric and machine stitched around the edge to hold it into postion on the page.
Just about every room in the house you will find toys!! from little people, to games, cars, barbie dolls, dress ups! Well when you have a 4 year old, toys are kinda expected. Nic has chosen to create a layout about these toys that she is forever picking up!!
Nic has used the pink Michael Miller Fabric that is free with this months For Keeps magazine, cutting it into strips and over lapped over the other Michael Miller fabric she has used on her page. Nic has also added 2 little Michael Miller flowers to the top of her page for that finishing touch. The title is a mixture of Sceinc Route chipboard letters and Heidi Swapp plastic letters.
Caz has chosen to do her first "At Home" layout on the washing - does it ever end? will there be just one day when there is no new washing! Apparently not - especially when you have 3 kids. Before Caz had kids they brought a pool table - these days it makes are great washing sorter!!
Caz has cut the little clothes from Michael Miller Memories fabric paper - Colourband Red. The title was created using Heidi Swapp Chipboard letters and Carolees Creations Love Worn letters. Machine stitching creates the washing line and the page border.
