It’s that time of year again, CHA Summer has just closed for another year and we’re flooded with images of all the new collections. We’re starting with new releases from American Crafts – we love these two ranges - Dear Lizzy’s Polka Dot Party and Amy Tangerine’s Cut & Paste.
The American Crafts brand is well known for it's colourful collections and cute embellishments. Stacey had so much fun creating this layout of her son and his doggy. She loved the colours of the Amy Tangerine Yes Please collection but also popped in a touch of lime green. The Zazz Glitter Glue was also another great addition to her layout. Everyone loves a bit of sparkle right?
Jane trimmed a jar, envelope and the word ‘hello’ from the papers and used them as embellishments for her card. Jars are so on trend at the moment and so are the colours in this range.
Jane trimmed two panels from the This & That paper and layered them on the Collector paper which has a great stressed look! Jane then cut a word from the Blue Skies paper and then finished her sentiment on her card using Wish Thickers.
We have a few gorgeous American Crafts projects from the talented Leslie Ashe to share with you today. This first creation features collections Yes Please and Soho Garden.
Leslie's second creation features the Yes Please collection along with her cute pooch.
Leslie's last page is a gorgeous double. Using the Yes Please collection once again, she has captured the fun and colour that makes up this lovely line. Thankyou so much Leslie for sharing her awesome work with us.
The tiny touches of gold glitter and foil alongside the gorgeous soft gelato colour palette is what made Suz Doyle fall in love with Dear Lizzy’s ‘5th and Frolic’ line from American crafts. It’s pretty and girly but still a little sophisticated, which also kind of suits her daughter to a T as well!
Iris always says that working with Amy Tangerine collection is such a thrill. You get everything you will ever need to create a funky dimensional page. The base paper is stitched and features a cluster of layered embellishments in one corner. That alone already gives you an amazing page design to start with. Add the dimensional stickers and fabric stickers and you are all set to go. Iris shares with us a recent page she made using the “Ready Set Go” collection for her European vacation to Brugge, Belgium – otherwise known as the “Venice of the North” because of its beautiful canals.
Another amazing thing about Amy Tangerine collections is that it easily blends with the older releases. Here, Iris mixes the new “Ready Set Go” collection with the older Amy Tangerine papers and embellishments.
April Lim shares with us a cheerful and crisp layout about a special bonding moment she shared with her son. She uses hand-cut elements to reflect the mood of the day as well as the love she shares with her son. Thank you April for the inspiration!
How pretty is this card using the 5th&Frolic line created by Lilith Eckels. Lizzie Kartchner. The garland comes ready made for you to adorn your projects.
Cathy Pascual from the American Crafts design team created this vibrant layout using the Soho Garden collection. We love how she repeated the bow motif from her daughters top in her embellishments.
This happy single page by American Crafts DT member Becky Williams also uses the Soho Garden range. We love her pops of colour – the hot pinks and reds , the gorgeous gold and of course the vibrant aqua that comes from the photos themselves.
Urban Cafe meets country flowerbeds in this cheerful new collection from American Crafts, SoHo Garden. Teeming with bold rich colours, hand-drawn tea-cups, florals and feathers abound, accented by deep greens and browns. Coupled with clean geometric and typeface patterns, SoHo Garden combines all the magic of city and country life.
CHA Summer is here and it’s time to bring you this season’s releases. We’re kicking off with American Crafts and this gorgeous airy collection with touches of stunning gold from Dear Lizzie – 5th & Frolic.
Suz Doyle chose to play with the latest Dear Lizzie Neopolitan range. She found some old photos of Phoebe still at toddler stage, getting into her scrapbook supplies, that she’s been wanting to scrap for aeons which suited the colour palette and theme of the papers perfectly. Her favourite thing right now is playing with Thickers and combining fonts, colours and textures in the one title. The embellishments in the Dear Lizzie range are just beautiful and unusually Suz wanted to use them all – cut out mason jars, fair ribbon accordion flowers and she finished it off with a big beautiful splashy Prima flower.
Janine had so much fun with this versatile range by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts. She adored the combination of grey and orange in the range and decided to accent with touches of the green for added impact. There were wonderful elements to hand cut out as well as totally cute stickers to finish off the design, all the while keeping the focus on that cute little face of her youngest boy!
Leah Farquharson has a stunning tutorial on the American Crafts blog showing how she created the above canvas using the Dear Lizzie Neopolitan range and Mister Huey’s Spray Mists.
Thank you to Leslie Ashe for sharing these amazing cards created from the American Crafts Amy Tangerine range. Leslie shows how a touch of funky elegance can be achieved with these cool papers mixed with some vintage lace.
Check out this super-pretty card by Melissa Mann from the American Crafts design team. She has used the 6x6 paper pad and the gorgeous pinwheels, stamps and trims from the range.
