In many states right now we’re enjoying (or enduring!) school holidays, so we thought we’d interrupt our regular programming to bring a special little piece of inspiration into each of your days.
The brief for the design team was to design and alter one of the many different 7gypsies artist trays available, and to create a special memory jar that worked alongside it – bringing memory keeping beyond the page in some very special ways.
We’ll feature an artist a day for the next two weeks, and they’re all so beautiful and uniquely amazing, we didn’t know where to start! So please keep checking back to see some stunning examples.
We’d love you to join in as well so if you have an artists tray or if you are inspired to create one, send us your images - we’d love to feature your work at the end of the series. Email images to email@example.com . If you need help sourcing artist trays, leave a comment at the end of the post and we’ll try and help you out in your state.
Kathie has used this combination of Printer’s Tray and memory jar to showcase vintage sewing items handed down by her grandmother. Vintage spools of thread, cards of darning thread, antique measuring tapes, tailors chalk, metal thimbles, even a linen runner that has been hand embroidered are displayed beautifully.
Kathie has used the Black Letterblock Printer’s Tray and she has decorated it with a combination of vintage text papers from 7Gypsies and BasicGrey. Vintage sewing tissue paper, unbleached calico and antique laces from Kathie’s collection give texture and underpin the sewing theme.
