weekend inspiration: luminarte

 

Suz will find any excuse to use her collection of beautiful Twinkling H2O’s, they’re right up there along with Glimmer Mist as her favourite arty products, but because Twinkling H2O’s are little cakes of water colours applied with a brush, you can be much more exacting about exactly where you want your shimmer to go.

Here Suz has given Grunge Alphas a rainbow effect combining the delicious little cakes of colour to celebrate her bookworm boy who always has his nose in a book.  Grungeboard is perfectly designed for applications such as this and Suz loves how the shimmer settles in the embossed crevices, further bringing out the pattern of the grunge board. She has also edged her cardstock in the same colours, which include Key Lime, Solar Gold, Ocean Wave and Persimmon.

 

For this layout Mel combined the bright and beautiful Sassafras Lass papers (green apple, cotton candy & tutti fruitti) then embellished the page with Cherry Arte chipboard swirls and circles. The chipboard was given a nice thick coat of paint using Luminarte's divine Polished Pigments. Although it's difficult to see in the photos, the Polished Pigments paint give such a luscious finish and creates a real shine when dry.

Extra dots of colour (using the paint) were also added to the green apple patterned paper to complete the page.

SEI En Route was a great range to show off one of Jaimies favourite holiday snaps. The range of colours is very rich with the added bonus of copper foil papers. A simple title and epoxy stickers keep this page photo focused.

 

Caz has use the beautiful Moravia papers and accents to create a little album about herself. Pages include her love of reading, music that is important to her, her bad habits, hopes and dreams for the future and what makes her laugh amongst other things.
The Moravia collection has some papers and accents that are flocked and some that are metallic. It's lovely and tactile and definitely not your ordinary run of the mill scrapbooking supplies.

 

 

We have Ally from Canada to thank for this fun, bright layout using the SEI En-route papers. How tiny and cute do those little guys look against that HUGE machine? Thanks for sharing Ally.

Thanks to Jackie from Utah for sharing with us the following two pages to celebrate her Son's graduation. Jackie writes proudly "My oldest son's graduation. He is the father of my 2 adorable grand kids, a husband, works full time as a baker and goes to school full time and I am extremely proud of his accomplishments, but even more so of his character."

She has used the beautiful Moravia papers which work so well on layouts about males and added touches of glimmer mist to her lettering and the papers for added interest.

 

These seriously gorgeous cards using the Moravia range are part of a set created by Patricia from Virginia. She discovered that the papers go really well with the Tattered Angels Glimmerchips. Thanks for the idea Patricia and also allowing us to share your lovely work with our blog readers.

weekend inspiration: basicgrey

Caz was lucky enough to play with the new BasicGrey range - Eerie. Even though her kids do sometimes trick or treat for Halloween she decided to do a couple of non Halloween layouts to show you how versatile it is. The range is full of bats and spiders, as well as having trees, lightening bolts and black cats. Each of the papers is double sided and the colours are so gorgeous. Perfect for super-hero pages, and pages about boys, bugs etc etc.

The paper and stickers with the bats on was perfect for this photo of her son Jesse when he was little in his Batman outfit.

This rather cheeky comment came from Caz's son Jesse while he gazed at the cobweb hanging from one of the upstairs light fittings. Caz can only reach the light fittings with a ladder and can't really be bothered carrying it all the way upstairs so it is still there. lol.

The spider and spider web papers in the Eerie range fit the page perfectly. The large black web is actually cut from the packaging on the Tim Holtz Spiderweb Mask packet.

Basic Grey is known for their beautiful rich hues and exotic patterns, and Indian Summer fulfills all these expectations and more. Steph has used 5 different Indian Summer Patterned Papers and cut out distinctive images to add to her vibrant collage. She has incorporated the beautiful Basic Grey Indian Summer Woolies which add texture and diversity to her layout. By addiing the tulle, Steph has created softness on these quite heavy colors, and secured the tulle with a stunning glazed brad.

What we love about Kelly Goree, is her amazing sense of design. Here she has combined a mixture of patterned papers and used contrasting patterns and shapes to intensify the impact of her design.

Caz thought you might enjoy this pretty layout by Jeannie Rivera using the Ambrosia range from basicgrey. We love the beautiful spray of butterflies she has hand cut from the patterned paper to showcase such a happy photo.

These three beautiful cards feature BasicGrey's Eskimo Kisses range were created by the talented Amy Tara Koeppel. How effective is the stitching on these cards? Those cut little mittens joined by the hand stitched words are to die for. Thanks so much for sharing Amy Tara.

Even though BasicGreys Lemonade range is not one of the newest ranges, we just gad to show you all this gorgeous album created by Berdien Weideveld from the Netherlands. She was just blown away by the detail that Berdien has included on each and every page. You can spend ages looking at each page and still not see all the little features included. Such a lot of time and talent went into created such a beautiful keepsake. Thanks for allowing us to share your album with our readers Berdien.

And finally, how gorgeous are these Christmas tags created by Aida from Singapore using the Basicgrey Eskimo Kisses range. They would be perfect as place cards for the Christmas dinner table, grouped in a little bucket for a centrepiece or even hung from the tree by a ribbon. Thanks for sharing with us Aida.

weekend inspiration: crate paper

 

Carole created this layout using the very Funky Bliss Collection by Crate Paper, with its pop culture type papers, stickers and embellishments.

The fun shapes and funky flowers with cute sayings made this collection really enjoyable and easy to use. Lots of vibrant purples and pinks with a dash of lime, a real experience and so much fun.

     

Mel used the beautiful range of Cottage papers and embellishments to create this layout, a reminder of a 'daddy and daughter' date to the movies a few months ago. A centre strip (picket fence) was hand stitched onto the page with a ric-rac sticker (from the Cottage embellishments) positioned along the chocolate edge. Circles were then punched out from other patterned papers in the range and blanket stitched onto the background (Path) before adding a few brads to complete the page.

  

Another layout by Mel using the gorgeous Cottage range from Crate Paper. A sheet of Fireflies was used for the background and then various patterned papers from the range were handcut out to embellish around the photograph. The sweet softie in the photo was a weekend project created by Mel and her daughter, repurposing an old woolen glove to create a cuddly bear. The Art rubons in the Cottage range include elegant flowers and words, which were both perfect to complete the page.

Thanks so much to Petrina McDonald for sharing one of her layouts with us again. This sweet page showcases some patterned paper and stem stickers by the Lillian Range and the little bit of cuteness in the photograph is Petrina's niece, taking after her Mama and two Aunties with the camera on Christmas day. We loved the simplicity of the page and the sweet machine stitching around the photograph.

Lauren Rhodes created this very cute card with Crate Paper "Lemon Grass Collection", love all the sweet diecuts, thanks so much for the inspiration Lauren.

weekend inspiration: technique tuesday

Suz saw this page by Ali Edwards earlier this year at CHA and just loved it.  Containing an exclusive set of stamps designed just for this kit, Suz loved the simplicity of the page  loved the versatility of the stamps, and so of course when the Everyday Life Page Kit was received in stock at Aussie, Suz couldn’t wait to get her hands on it. 

 

And so here she uses the same page kit and many of the elements from it, including the stamps to create a layout about her son’s wonderful imagination and a record of a story he has written.  The title is also a Technique Tuesday set of alphas called Provence (Lower Case) and it’s a font she loves for it’s classic outline, but with a beautiful decorative touch.

  

Chris has created the following sets of baby girl, baby boy and neutral cards and gift tags sets with the totally adorable 'cute as a button' Technique Tuesday stamp set. Chris has teamed this with the Deja Views Sharon Ann Baby Boy and Baby Girl papers. I think you'll agree that they are just too cute!!!

For a bit of extra pop, cut out the stamped images and adhere them to your card with 3D foam tape.

Chris positioned the 'heaven sent' in an arc on her clear stamp block before stamping it to create this lovely little round scalloped card.

Joining us now to show her skills with Technique Tuesday stamps is Teri Anderson!

For the card on the left Teri has used the 'Frayed Ends' and 'Delightful Daisies' stamps and for the cards on the right Teri has used the 'Capture the moment' stamp by Ali Edwards, which is actually a journalling stamp. Here's how Teri created the cards.

“I stamped the Capture the Moment stamp twice on two different colours of cardstock. Cut out the journaling block. Flipped it over and stamped one of the Growing Wild stamps on the blank side".

The beautiful colours in the cherryArte Vanilla Vintage papers were the perfect match for the jumper Caz's daughter is wearing in these photo. Caz kept the layout simple but managed to incorporate 5 different papers plus a card containing hidden journaling that slips in behind the main photo.

 

Suz used the lovely strong colours of the “Seasonal” range to create this simple but effective layout of her boys ‘playing’ with their welding kit.  The cherryArte colour storeys are unusual but easy to mix and match, and look particularly effective against white cardstock.  

 

   

Thanks to the lovely Emeline Seet from Singapore for sharing the above three layouts with us. The first one uses a mix of Seasonal and Deco Hall. The second has a mix of Seasonal and Vanilla Vintage and in the the third one Emeline has used mainly Vanilla Vintage. You can see how each of these paper ranges is easily able to be mixed and matched to create gorgeous layouts.

 

Thanks to Pam Callaghan for allowing us to share this lovely layout about herself and her Son using the cherryArte Vanilla Vintage papers. Such a simple idea to use the petal shapes this way but so effective.

And these last two layouts come to us from the talented Sheri Reguly. Sheri has blown us away with her ability to create such striking layouts such as this one here using the Vanilla Vintage range. I think you'll agree that the Vanilla Vintage papers look awesome against the crisp white background.

 

And in this layout Sheri has taken full advantage of the double sided paper from the Seasonal range and created another fabulous layout. Only minimal embellishments are needed with paper this fantastic! Many thanks to Sheri for sharing her wonderful layouts with us!

weekend inspiration: cosmo cricket

Taking the Early Bird theme literally, Nicole created this fun layout of her sleepy-head daughter Madeleine. Maddy is notorious for taking a long time to wake up in the morning and Nic wanted to make sure she recorded this in Maddy's album.

She started with a base of white cardstock and masked it using Tim Holtz masks, Glimmermist and Distress Ink and then built her layout on top using Cosmo Cricket papers and a mixture of embellishments from the Early Bird range along with a few other bits and pieces from her stash.

 

 

Jaimie got to play with the new cosmo early bird range, she chose the crafting kit as it has everything that you will need to create a load of projects. Jaimie used the spinner as an extention of her journaling, instead of using the spinner as a whole she cut it down and placed it on her page so it looks as though it is peaking out from beneath her layered strips of paper.

Jaimie placed her photo (a delicious looking latte) and then layered various pieces from the crafting kit to create interest and depth to her page, stickers, brads, frames, diecuts and of course the spinner make for a retro page all about her favourite fantasy of enjoying a cup of coffee in peace.

We're so excited to welcome Davinie Fiero to our blog to share this delicious layout with you. We love the sunny feel to it. Here's what Davinie said about this product line, "I adore everything Cosmo Cricket and I particular love the Apron Strings pattern in the Early Bird line, which is why I used it as the base paper for this layout. The color palette in this line works for many different themes and the other products available work very well together."

 

This amazing recipe box and coin bank were created by Danni Reid using the Early Bird range. We especially love how she has taken the themed products and adapted them to suit her project perfectly, and what a cheerful way to save your coins! Thanks Danni.

 

We were thrilled to discover this gorgeous selection of cards for teachers created by Tina Erdos. Simple design on each of them, yet stunning results. Thanks so much for letting us share your wonderful cards here Tina!

weekend inspiration: jenni bowlin

 

For this layout Mel used a selection of Jenni Bowlin mini papers (front porch), cutting them up into shapes to mimic the design in the crocheted blanket featured in the photo. They were then machine stitched into position and a title was added combining Jenni Bowlin chalkboard alphas (red) and the top portions of some bingo cards (Jenni Bowlin, birthday). Extra dimension was created by lifting the bingo card titles off the page with foam mounting tape.

Caz created these cute cards using the Jenni Bowlin Studios Mini Bingo Cards, Jenni Bowlin Front Porch Mini Papers and Jenni Bowlin Felt Shapes. She used the words in the Bingo Cards as the base for the greeting and added the rest using Carolee's letter stickers and mini jewelry tags.

Many thanks to the lovely Ranjini for this layout which she modestly describes as "Just a collage of scalloped hearts using papers from the Jenni Bowlin Studio Front Porch range and lots of little embellies". We think it is stunning and such a great way to use up small pieces of leftover patterned paper.

  This beautiful page by Jana Eubank caught our eye and we couldn't resist sharing it. What we loved was Jana's delightful use of Jenni Bowlin floral papers on a boy page, combined with graphic shapes like circles and bold lines which keeps the layout from feeling too feminine.

Another striking layout by Jana Eubank! Jana cleverly made the Jenni Bowlin Mini Bingo Card do double duty on this page. The top portion of the card was used as a "tab" at the top of the photo. The bottom portion of the card (that would have been hidden behind the photo) has been used as an additional accent on the page. A star shape has also been punched out of it using the negative space to anchor a letter monogram. Thanks so much for sharing both your layouts Jana.

 

And finally – some gorgeous layouts by Jenni Bowlin herself showcasing the lovely browns and reds of the Town Square range, as well as making wonderful use of her new rubons which turns any old plain cardstock into a masterpiece!  Thanks Jenni!

weekend inspiration: carolee’s creations

 

This delightful layout by Mel showcases the funky new 'Life's a Hoot' range by Carolee's Creations. Comprising of patterned papers, ribbons and stickers the range covers a lovely warm array of colours. Mel has worked with a sheet of Owl Hoot B paper for her background and added a selection of stickers and also a strip of Hoot Stripe patterned paper to resemble the river in the photograph. The sweet owl in the top right hand corner is by Hero Arts (Big Hoot) and completes the layout perfectly.

 

This bright layout by Nic Howard combines new release Carolee's papers with some of the current ones, something Nic says she loves doing. Nic loved the new 'Fern' range (also known as the Hoot range), but loved adding the bold colours of the Whoopsy Daisy collection as well. Layered and distressed in true Nic style, the middle border was created with Carolee's papers, Twiddleybitz bullrush border, Hambly transparency and invisibles butterflies from Heidi Swapp.

Nic finished her layout with a dimensional title, layering black Rose Moka letters, white BasicGrey alphas and Collage Press Camden blue lettering to finish.

 

It was hard to go past this layout when we saw it online - so bright and cheery, using some of our favourite new bright papers from Carolee's. U.S. designer, Alison Lindhardt created this layout, thanks for letting us share, Alison!

 

A gorgeous summer layout by Tammy Anderson. This layout combines a wide range of Carolee's papers and products, including one of our favourites - the foam alphabet. Thanks for letting us share, Tammy!

 

Camping’s not for everyone (some of us need hairdryers!) but if you’re after camping theme papers,these Carolee’s ones are perfect. Debbie Raymond showcases them here in this fun layout.

 

Another take on the fun camping papers by Alison Lindhart, who has transformed them into this gorgeous mini album.

 

These lovely flowery papers were too pretty to go past, and we thank Jana Eubank for turning them into such a stunning layout.  Love the contrast of the black ribbon against them – just perfect. 

Also by Jana Eubank who shows us there’s no reason we can’t celebrate Dads with daisies!  These are the Prairie, Wild Patch and Field of gold papers, along with the foam alphabet.

 

And how cute is this mini album by Lisa Day.  She uses papers from lots of different Carolee’s ranges – we love how they all work together.

 

Georgana Hall uses Snow papers that are almost as cute as her photographs in this fabulous double layout.

weekend inspiration: luxe designs

  

Carole created this layout from Luxe Designs "Ecology" pattern papers, very cute and very fresh looking papers. Carole wanted a backyard feel to the layout, so she created the fence using the reverse side of the "Earth Day" pattern paper, and placed foam tape to the back of each piece of fence before sticking down onto the layout which gave more depth. Carole cut out the birds and the branches and made the trees with different sized circles and then distressed the edges to create the trees.

Jaimie has had this beautiful photo of her daughter in a frame for quite some time but decided to scrap it with the beautiful and girly Luxe Lovey range. A clustered arrangement of embellishments are all this page needs to make the photo pop. The pinks and greens of these papers are not overpowering and suit this little girl page. Jaimie cut down a Luxe transparency and sewed it over a torn piece of Luxe Lovey paper before layering various stickers and buttons .

A Luxe Jotter is the background for her title and she has used a flower punch to create a small flower and combined it with bling, more stickers, brads and buttons to finish of her page.

 

Gaby Alcantara from the Luxe Design Team created this very vibrant and fresh layout using the Ecology Collection. Gaby really makes the most from the pattern papers with her design, thankyou so much Gaby for sharing you gorgeous this with us.

Luxe Designs DT member Staci Taylor has created this gorgeous page using the Luxe Lovey range. We especially love her cut out and layered paper which give interest and of course that extra wow factor. Such a beautiful project Staci - thankyou for letting us share your inspiration.

 

Aida Haron has created this AMAZING page on her daughters shoes! Her layering and placement of all those little things have built this page up to its eye popping completion.

Aida Haron's altered tin also project caught our eye. Her beautiful girly tin will make the perfect keepsake gift for any little girl. Jaimie in particular fell in love with the project especially Aida's use of clustered embellishments . So so beautiful. Thankyou Aida.

 

Melissa Bove created this gorgeous centrepiece using Luxe Design "Simply Luxe" pattern papers. We thought this was so charming and just so very pretty, thankyou so much Mellissa for sharing this gorgeous project.
