My scrap space occupies one end of the upstairs of our house. It is a cosy area with huge bookcases full of books, a couple of lounges, my Dad’s old games table, my desk and a storage unit I bought from Ikea. My desk is set into the dormer window recess overlooking the backyard, perfect for opening the window to yell out “everyone get off the shed roof, now”, “I don’t care who had it first I am sure the neighbours are sick of hearing about it” and other such pleasantries.
My space is full of little scrapbooking thingies – jars of ribbon and flowers, mini albums in baskets and other assorted stuff that visitors like to browse through.
My desk is a mess. Totally overflowing with papers, half finished projects, beanie kids, coffee mugs, cameras etc etc. Funnily enough I know where everything on it is though. The thing I am most likely looking for is probably under a cat. This one likes to chew on the corner of any paper he happens to be lying on, the other cat just likes to spread out and push everything off the edge of the desk onto the floor.
Under my desk at night you are more than likely to find this small boy. He doesn’t fall asleep well by himself and now that Wayne is working away from home and can't lay down with him, this is the only answer we can come up with, a bed under my desk. I tried being the one to lay down with him but this just meant we were all snoring at 8:30, not good for deadlines. Lol.
One of my favourite bits of furniture in my house is this unit I bought from Ikea. Although when I was carrying all the heavy pieces in from the car and up the stairs I was wondering what had come over me, did I have to pick a solid wood one? What is wrong with plastic and chipboard exactly? It has all these fabulous drawers, 2 large cupboards and a lovely big display area on top. And you guessed it, it is full of scrapping products.
In the cupboards on one side is my Cropper Hopper Vertical Storage holding all my patterned papers sorted by Manufacturer. Well, that is except for the 3 folders dedicated to BasicGrey which are sorted by paper range, earliest releases to latest releases. Sad I know. Such is my fondness for BasicGrey.
In the cupboard on the other side are my beautiful We R Memory Keepers albums. My scrapping friends bought them for me for my 40th Birthday. They match the cushions on the lounge perfectly and ummmm, they are all still empty.
My layouts are in cardboard boxes. And I am still procrastinating over how to sort them into the albums. Should I do it by date? Of when I scrapped or when the photos are taken? Should I do it by child? I know, I should probably just do it…
Maybe tomorrow.
