The Queensland range of papers are all about blue skies, sandy beaches tropical rainforests but most of all - energy. These papers come to life on layouts, their energy and motion is infectious.
Another thing we're hearing in a lot of our feedback is that these papers are practically self-sufficient - between the papers and the rubon designs outstanding pages can be created with very little extra embellishments, and that's great for scrapping budgets, especially at this time of year. If you like your layouts a little more 3dimensional, it takes little effort to cut out and mount part of a design on chipboard, or to highlight with dimensional magic.
We thank guest designers Jacqueline Piper, Elizabeth Munro, Dianna Sullivan, Di Turner, Ann Lederhose, and Janine Kaye for their beautiful contributions alongside our own design team in what really feels like a bumper issue of this weeks posts.
Combination is the key word when it comes to BTDT ranges - they are so easy to mix and match within each other to create beautiful pages taking the guess work out. The large motifs are begging to be cut out and the versatile double sided papers and rubons make for simple additions to the page. Jaimie asks the question "Who says travel ranges have to be "just: for travel ...".
Chris is taking full advantage of scrapping some older photos that she couldn't find the right papers for at the time. BTDT papers have framed these photos beautifully and have given the whole layout a very tropical theme.
Chris also said she loves how many accents there are in the patterns of the BTDT papers. It makes layouts so easy to put together.
Cheryl Durey: Water pistol fights are a family tradition at Christmas time. It is a fun way for the kids to burn up energy and a great way to cool down too. The water pistols are at the top of our packing list, and whilst we lose at least one or two every year through loss or breakage, we always seem to come home with more than we took away.
Janine Kaye: having not been to QLD for quite a long time i didn't have suitable photos to co-ordinate with the front designs on these papers but that definitely didn't matter... i used the colours to guide me in the one of jack and i used a bit of a play on words for the page about me. i instantly loved the colours in these papers and the subtle designs on the back side of the papers are fantastic for any theme or topic!. i also cut up small sections on the front designs to use as accents or as my titles. the rub-ons are SO easy to use, and can be easily cut up and rearranged to make different designs. its great to finally see some fabulous great quality aussie papers in the market that are also very versatile! i am so thrilled to get the chance to play with these papers..thank you ASS!!
Ann Lederhose: The versatility of these papers is really very pleasing. I love that I’ve been able to do a location LO as well as doing something a little more fun too. The reverse sides of the papers are perfect as bases and the rubons and the front side of the papers are a veritable wealth of embellishment….I really did not need to add any extra product at all which was great!
Di Turner has created this linear beachy themed page using a mix of the more solid Queensland pages interspersed with her photos.
Elizabeth Munro: When I saw the ferris wheel paper I knew I had the perfect photo for it! I loved how it became part of the foreground, almost an extension of the photo. Love the BTDT range! There's something in there for everyone.
Jacqueline Piper: This Lo has a photo of my son and his wife taken on the beach at Surfers Paradise.I have just taken a section of the page out to accommodate the photo and then cut the leaves out of that section and put them in the lower left corner. That's the patchworker in me.
I cut the Surfers Paradise out of one of the other sheets. Then just added some faux stitching and lots of blossoms. Two blossoms at the top and bottom have brads with the bride and grooms initials.
Jacqueline Piper: Love the papers. This is a mini album made from 3 DL envelopes. Each of the pockets has additional photos
Always last but not least, Chris Millar our Card Fairy has struck again. Another two great ideas which you could adapt for any of the colour ranges.
