Jaimie kept this page as simple as she could. Minimal embellishments, journaling and fuss BUT the wow factor still remains. The black, white and silver base is made all the more brilliant with the vibrant red alphadots. Lovely
To celebrate her oldest sons first high school formal, Jaimie wanted to create a page that would keep focus on her son and his friends but still convey the emotion felt on the occasion which she has achieved through her title and appropriate quote which takes the place of journaling. By layering rubons in both black and white and then adding Q&Co felt ribbon she has added minimal to get optimal.
Hambly Screen Prints offer a wide range of transparent overlays, rubons and patterned papers, all suitable for a vast array of scrapbooking projects. In this layout Mel has combined a twigs & weeds overlay in white with a sheet of mini graph, white on kraft patterned paper. The overlay has been machine stitched into position and a small splash of Junkitz mini feltz flowers added to create a little texture. The rubons (for the title) are also by Hambly Screen Prints - how cool is that font!
A big thankyou to Ann Lederhose for sharing this seriously scrummy layout. Ann has used a mix of red and aqua paint underneath the Hambly Screen Print transparency and a little splash of white paint directly on top of the transparency to create the photo matting. Don't the colours look divine with the photo!!
Alison Shearer's LO certainly has an Urban feel. We loved her hand drawn title and all the little bits of eye candy that make up this gorgeous page all drawn together by her use of the Hambly overlay.
Petrina McDonald created this striking layout to sit on a wooden frame in the entrance of her home during the holiday season. Such a beautiful idea! Here she has used the black journaling bits transparency to highlight each photo on the page. What caught our eye was the mix of red, green and black - so perfect for the festive time of year. Thankyou Petrina.
Here Danielle has used Hambly rubons and paper on her LO about her connection with the lovely Lusi Austin. Bright and cheery the LO is perfectly balanced and draws the eye through the page so nothing is missed.
Simply breathtaking is the cry that went out when we saw Sue's LO. The rich orange of the Hambly overlay is perfectly complimented with the red background and certainly makes Sue's photo of her beautiful daughter POP!!
Sue Johannes says: As soon as I saw this photo of Jade the first word that popped into my mind was “radiate”. She just radiates so much energy and personality. The colours orange, red and yellow go hand in hand with the theme of radiate and the yummy Hambly paper was the perfect choice. I used a sheet of paper with a sun image on it and used the design as a template then sewed around the image with embroidery thread.
The butterflies stitched on the outside are filled with beads and Dimensional Magic. The felt ribbon down the bottom is of course Queen and Co. If you ever want bright and funky then you can’t go past Hambly!!
Another fantastic LO that is good enough to eat. Lots of layering was used on this page and the Hambly overlay just peaking out from beneath the main photo is beautiful.
Sue says: I am totally into anything bright and funky at the moment and the Hambly transparencies and rub-ons definitely fit the bill!! When I printed out this photo of my eldest I couldn’t believe how old she looked. I added a photo of her taken only 3 years before to show how much she had changed.
To give the idea of the movement of time I used the circular Hambly transparency as the background and painted inside the circle and an orange spot on each of the swirly parts. To balance the orange felt and crocheted flower in the bottom right-hand corner I added the vibrant orange Hambly rub-on to the top left-hand corner. I love the way these rub-ons go on like butter. Hambly would have to be my all time favourite manufacturer." Thanks for sharing your inspiration Sue.
Dont you just love these transparent LO's! Alison has created an eye catching page of her too cool daughter. Her use of cluster embellishments really give that wow factor and make you want to run your hands all over her page. "oh yeah" Alison - we agree - too cool!
Danielle has created this gorgeous mini album cover from a Hambly overlay. The bright pink has been toned down by teaming it with cool teal and finished off with Hambly rubons. Stunning work.
