it's been busy around here behind the scenes and starting tomorrow all next week we'll be bringing you previews of all the new product being released at CHA.
In the meantime though, back to our challenges. Thank you so much for all your responses - we've been delighted AND challenged by them. It's fun to learn what our readers actually want to see. Do keep them coming on the original post as we hope to keep this going.
The challenges have already developed life of their own and we invited our manufacturers to get in on the act, daring us - and you! - to use their brands in exciting new ways. We love that they're keeping an eye on the blog and seeing what we're doing with their products as well!
So. I'm starting it off with a challenge from Paul Whitteker of Tinkering Ink!
PROJECT TINK
Really fun! Can't wait to see what everyone does.
1. theme - kids
2. style - bright and bold
3. brand or product - large beautiful patterns (ala Tinkering Ink)
4. technique - beads
5. no# photos - more than 2
thanks - pw

and will be posting the layouts we - and you! - create for this challenge on the blog on Monday 21st July. I know that's not very long but it's just to get the ball rolling. If you can get yourself some gorgeous bright and bold Tinkering Ink paper, some beads and email your layout to me by next Sunday we'll be thrilled to include it in the post and we'll send you out something special to thank you for responding so quickly.
Here are some examples of the large bold patterned papers we're talking about. Please don't think you have to use whole sheets though - these large patterns can be intimidating, but some of the most breathtaking layouts can be created by colour blocked or cut down sections of these papers.
Tinkering Ink - Al Fresco
Tinkering Ink - Wild Woodland
It's best that you fulfil all five criteria in any challenge to qualify for the post. For example in this challenge it should have more than two photos of children, be bright and bold using large patterns (preferably tinkering ink) AND use beads somewhere on the page. However, if you're inspired by this brief, go off on a tangent while you're creating and you don't quite cover all five points, we'd still love to see your work. The point is that you've been inspired! (Where everything's made up and the points don't matter!) So if your layout is bold but not bright it might be ok. If you can't find or fit a bead anywhere, we'd forgive you.
Having said that, if we get a really big response, we do reserve the right to only post those that best fit the brief, and the more Aussie Scrap Source brands you can get in there, the better!
When emailing your layouts, please use the challenge name in your subject line so I know where they're going.
From Monday 28 July, we'll be posting layouts based on the following challenges. Thanks so much to Lisette and Rebecca who suggested them!
EVERYDAY DISTRESSED

BIRTHDAY PAPER
I love that show.
1. theme - birthday party
2. style - simple
3. brand or product - pattern paper (no chipboard flourishes or owls)
4. technique - I am not interested in techniques just how products are used.
5. no# photos: more than 3
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

If you would like to take part and create a layout for either of these two challenges, we'd love to hear from you. Email me your layouts by Sunday 27 July to ensure they appear in our post. That's only TWO weeks folks, so do get scrapping! We will post some more challenges with longer timelines very soon.
