Using Jenni Bowlin's Framed Girl rub-on in a silhouette challenge was never in question, it was what Steph was going to team it with. She decided to go for something totally unexpected, bright and energetic. Sassafras Lass Papers were perfect , framing the stunning black and white photo of her daughter Madison. The silhouette added to the drama of the layout by both remaining soft and feminine and looking striking when rubbed on patterned paper for contrast.
Carole loved the idea of creating something a little different for silhouettes, she decided to go with an embellishment type silhouette, she used the Inque Boutique papers, chipboard and felt. The chipboard and felt surfboards where her main feature for the silhouettes and she brought it together with a Hambly antique screen.
Carole then added embellishments to set off the layout, and also used some cute little stamped features such as the Speech Bubbles for clouds and the bird for a seagull which where created from the Pink Paislee Clear Stamps, and also little touches with buttons and felt.
Caz loves the shiny black look of the Heidi Swapp masks so much that she decided to use them as the title and accents for this fun Halloween page rather than use them with paint or ink. She stuck them directly to her page using extra adhesive as the masks are meant to be removable.
The letter masks are great value as you can use both the outside and the insides of each of the letters as Caz has done in her trick or treat title therefore getting twice as many letters for your dollar.
As the masks, title and journaling took up most of the page, Caz added a flap with a film strip she created with black card and a small square punch to hold her photos. The photos were all taken at night and not as clear as she would have liked so they work well in this small format and she was able to get many photos on the one page.
Jaimie gave a little bit of punch to the silhouetted flowers on this Luxe transparency by gently sanding the back of the transparency and then painting the flower petals in colours that complimented the Cosmo Hello Sunshine paper on her LO. By using this very simple technique you can bring all transparencies to life as well as giving a unique look to your page.
Nic was so disappointed when she only managed to get this one photo of her children patting a Dingo at Healesville Sanctuary. It was the highlight of their day and she thought she'd never manage a good layout of such a wonderful memory.
By scrapping the photo in the warm, earthy tones of BasicGrey Infuse, and adding the cute shapes from the BasicGrey Mellow chipboard, she created this sweet layout that conveyed the fond feelings perfectly!
Nic has always fancied trying the Scenic Route Chipboard silhouette people as a design element and this challenge gave her the perfect chance. Pair that with a photo that Nic has been wanting to scrap forever and it was a perfect match.
Nic used a little Glimmermist on the plain chipboard (Creme de Chocolat and watermelon) as well as a coating of LuminArte Radiant Rain to create a slight coppery effect. She has used a background created primarily from SEI and Scenic Route papers. Embellishments came in the form of SEI glitter die-cuts, Luxe Designs paper and the new BasicGrey white chocolate chip lettering. A match made in heaven!
