Donna sees the world a little differently since taking up scrapbooking & photography. She notices colours, textures and repetition everywhere she goes. And...seeing as her scrapbooks are a creative record of her view of the world it is only fair that she capture some of those details that fill her mind and her thoughts wherever she goes!
In this layout, Donna noticed a basket full of bottles for bubble-blowing at a recent wedding she was attending. The colours 'spoke' to her and the little story of her daughters excitement at gaining the responsibility for this basket was well & truly worthy of a layout.
To emphasise the colour in the photo, Donna has chosen Tinkering Ink's gorgeous Al Fresco range of patterned paper and tags.
The colours complement the photo perfectly and the shapes contained within the design are almost bubble-like in appearance. She has further added to the 'bubble' theme by incorporating Hambly Screen Prints circle overlay, Heidi Swapp's clear overlay circle and Bling! along with another Tinkering Ink circle tag. The layering and overall design lead to a complex, but not overwhelmingly so, layout.
Steph has been waiting to use the BasicGrey Sugared Elephant for her baby daughter for a while now. Because she had the opportunity to scrap non people, she decided to showcase her daughter's favourite shoes. The pretty flowers and feminine embellishments just bring out the innocence of the age of Madison as shown through the design of this layout.
Non-people pages are a good way to take a break from what could seem the same old thing. Its also a good way to have a bit of fun with product, photography and journaling. Jaimie has chosen a clean and simple style to showcase her love of high heel shoes and has kept the feel of the LO fun with her play on the title "A womans right to choose".
A little bit of chipboard, a HS Velvet flower mixed with brads keep with the clean and simple style while giving some interest to the page. The delicious Rose Moka paper is girly and rich - perfect for a page about shoes.
Carole loved the whimsy feel to Sassfrass Lass Woodland Whimsy pattern papers, stickers and chipboard, a real cottage feel, and just a delight to use. She enjoyed creating this layout, with its warming friendly feel and adding all the gorgeous embellishments.
Caz created 2 simple collage style layouts to showcase some of her favourite photos from her last 2 holidays in Kiama. It's a pretty country town with the added bonus of being right on the coast. This is a fabulous way to capture many glimpses of the one holiday without having to scrap heaps of pages.
Following this week's blog challenge, Mel took the opportunity to scrapbook a page on their new puppy Trooper. The title was created by mixing up three different alphabet ranges - Hero Arts Basic Lowercase (Mel's favourite stamps), Scenic Route Berkely Alpha Stickers (black) and Cosmo Cricket Blackboard Shapes (Retromix Alpha).
To add the bottom border to the layout, several Basic Grey were cut into strips, edges inked and slightly distressed before adhering onto the page. One of the strips was then slid through a We R Memory Keepers silver buckle to add extra dimension to the page.
