Not only are a variety of shapes, numbers and alphas available in Grungeboard, but there are whole albums available too. Nic Howard has started with a Tim Holtz 6x6 Bracket Grungebaord album here. She has used Glimmer mist and Glimmer screens along with word stamping to create a unique album for her son. We only show one set on inside pages here but Nic has used the Basicgrey Periphery paper along with Grungeboard elements (and you can't keep her away from that Glimmer Mist) to fill the whole album.
The main Tim Holtz element that Steph wanted to play with was the new release Nature Grungeboard. Steph painted her bird white, allowed it to dry and then applied a coat of Mod Podge. While still wet, Steph sprinkled Pink Paislee Pixie Stix in Coconut all over the bird. After that had dried off she added the white sequins and then started to decorate the tail.
First of all she started with the lighter fuschia colour versa cube and inked the tail. Then she added the darker almost red versa cube and rubbed it into the Grungeboard to blend. Once the ink was dry she then applied the Basic Grey Rub Ons to give the bird a unique, bright and colourful style which complimented her layout beautifully. The grungeboard was fantastic to work with, pliable and easily absorbs the ink and paint application.
Steph used the Tim Holtz Concerto Mask, laying it on her base cardstock and spraying with Pink Taffy Glimmer Mist. She then got a old tea towel and dabbed the colour into the cardstock so that it had a smoother look rather than a speckled appearance that Glimmer Mist tends to give (you can also simply use a tissue). Once the Glimmer Mist was dry, the mask is so easy to peal off, wash and place back in its packaging. A design as versatile as this music note one can be used again and again with a completely different look and purpose each time.
Carole created this gorgeous little note box, for all the odd notes that you don't know what to do with, but are still important. She used Tim Holtz Seasons Grungeboard, which is so versatile. Carole used the cat and the lantern for a Parisian feel.
Carole lightly sanded the Grungeboard, then applied Black Ink, giving it several coats. She applied dimensional magic to the ink which gave it a shine and added some gems for the collar on the cats neck. Carole then teamed BasicGrey Urban Prairie pattern papers and Chipboard which enhanced the black finish on the Grungeboard and gave the project great colour and depth. Very yummy!
Caz loves the Tim Holtz Grungeboard shapes. They are so versatile, you can do just about anything to them. On this layout she has transformed the heart by painting it with red acrylic paint and then spraying it with Graphite Glimmer Mist while the paint was still wet. Both paints swirled together creating a sparkly grungy effect. Caz then painted the skull black, sprayed it with the Glimmer Mist and added some evil red eyes to match in with the heart.
