Caz created this substance layout as a tribute to her Dad who died of cancer 9 years ago. The journaling on the back focuses on what she would have done differently if she had known that his time was limited, and he would not be around forever.
Now I know...
Life is Short
Nothing is Forever
Treasure every Moment
Caz kept the embellishments to a minimum to focus on the photos and words. Basic Grey Urban Prairie Stickers and Rub-ons take the place of patterned paper.
Coming to terms with some of life's challenges can change who we are and the way that we think about life. This story of Molly and her little down syndrome baby - Georgia, is a story that Steph wanted to share in her "Substance" layout, because it is a story that captures the heart and shows a amazing beautiful woman coming to terms with a heart breaking yet so rewarding gift that came to her four months ago.
To create this layout of Carole's darling Little Boy Chaise, Carole used some older lines of Sassafras Lass patterned papers, Starry Night, Pretty Polly and Orange A'Peel Die Cuts. All the colours together worked so well with the mixing of papers.
The recent addition of a new family member provided Chris with the inspiration for this layout topic. Chris says that although the photo on this layout is a little dark it pin points the exact reason why she now knows for sure that adopting their beautiful new dog Skip was the right decision for her family. To see her daughter Annaliese (who can be quite a highly strung girl at times) nice and relaxed with Skip makes Chris so thankful that Skip is now part of the family.
Sometimes being a parent can be a challenge and Nicole doesn't mind admitting that when her son was a baby, she wondered if it was all worth it. Of course it was without question and when she saw this photo taken last Christmas, it made her realise how far she had come as a Mum, but more than anything, how much Alexander has developed as he has grown.
She feels very much like she blinked when he was a baby and then he turned nine. She reflected on how the sleepless nights with a crying baby seemed to go on forever, yet they flew.
Using the Sonoma range by Scenic Route, Nic created this warm and maternal layout, made more-so by the random stitches used to soften the base and top borders. What she loves about this range is that it can be warm and maternal, yet maintains a neutral palette which makes it easy to use for a variety of different layout types. The other happy discovery that Nic made was that the Crate Paper Prudence border accents and cardstock letters were perfect colours to co-ordinate with the Sonoma range.
