As scrapbookers we take photos constantly, and for every beautiful photo there are 10 that are either blurred or just don't work. This photo that Steph has written about, has been retrieved from the "not so good" pile, because of the beautiful, but blurry image. Its amazing if we look deeper at some of the photos that we are going to discard, what amazing gems they actually are, and how they can become some of the most precious images that you have taken.
Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose. The things you treasure. Memories of her childhood and growing up are one of the things that Caz treasures. She has very few photos of her when she was young as it was so expensive to get them developed and people just didn't take photos of the everyday stuff in life.
While driving the streets the other day she suddenly remembered the jacaranda tree in the backyard of her childhood home that was such a part of their games and make believe play. This layout is about that memory, and the importance of recording our memories for the future.
For this challenge Mel thought it was a great opportunity to record one of her favourite things to do with her children. Something that she treasures dearly is the time they spend together cooking, sewing or creating little bits and pieces to display or use around the home. For this page seven small photos were grouped together and adhered onto a sheet of Lemon Die Cut paper (Crate, Lemongrass range). The strips and journaling block were stuck directly onto the page using Journal Tag sheets from Sassafras Lass Fawnd of You and Happy Place and Mel finished off with a nice bright title (Redmond chipboard stencil + Red Berkely from Scenic Route) plus stamped journaling (Hero Arts basic lowercase).
Nicole chose to focus on a treasured possession for this challenge. Not one for collecting many objects, Nicole wanted a permanent record of where this little pot came from and why it's absolutely so precious to her. Combining the delicate warm tones of Jenni Bowlin's Victoria range with Basic Grey's Perhaps yellows enabled Nic to create this heartfelt and warm layout.
The light colours also provided a fantastic backdrop for her strongly coloured photos and she created little crepe paper flowers to nestle her handcut Basic Grey butterfly in.
Gorgeous layers and a mixture of Scenic Route and BasicGrey papers make up this stunning layout by Louise Williams of Whangaparoa, New Zealand. Louise took the idea of "This I treasure" and looked at it from her son's point of view, creating a layout about a favourite toy. This goes to show that even when we are given a prompt for a page, that so many different ideas can come of it. We love the stunning details here, thanks for sharing, Louise!
