Kathie chose the quote on this layout, because it really resonates with her. It’s about having faith in ourselves that we have something important to contribute, even if we feel quite tiny in the whole scheme of things.
To create the page, Kathie first laid down a layer of torn pieces of Jenni Bowlin Vintage papers, then she washed over these papers with a thin layer of acrylic paints. Kathie created two backgrounds like this – a cream one and a blue one.
When the blue background was dry, she added paper images hand-cut from the Jenni Bowlin papers. She then embellished the image with co-ordinating rub-ons and border stickers. To give the page texture Kathie added hessian, hand-stitched calico, blue ball trim and finally vintage buttons.
This gorgeous quote is by Brian Andreas of Storypeople, and it’s one that Suz has had put aside for a long time now. The kids are older than when she first found it, but the quote still remains true and she tries to remind herself of it when they’re driving her crazy, or when they’ve emptied her wallet of its contents for this weeks ‘must haves’.
Suz has used her new favourite patterned paper range - BasicGrey Kioshi – on this layout, and teamed it up with Sassafras Felties and a gorgeous new Zva bling flourish for a touch of whimsy.
