Once upon a time in the world of scrapbooking, we were surrounded by squares and rectangles. The paper was square, the photos were rectangular. We used straight border stickers and photo trimmers and all our layouts started to look the same.
Thank goodness someone out there started to scrap with circles.
Because let’s face it, circles are fun.
In this layout Caz has punched out an assortment of co-ordinating circles from the BasicGrey Green at Heart range and used them to create the foliage on her tree. She only adhered the circles in the very centre so that the edges could lift up and make the page a bit more dimensional. How sweet is the tiny dimensional sticker bird perched on the bottom branch?
Using her alltime favourite BasicGrey range, Eerie, Caz has again used small punched circles this time layering them across the bottom of the page to create a border, She has cut out 2 large rings and overlapped them for the spider web to cling to, creating a unique 'photo mat' for her smaller photos.
Lynn from the USA created this gorgeous page using Collage Press's Knave of Hearts range. She said it was quick and easy to put together as the circle accents were part of the Knave of Hearts 12x12 Collage Cuts Die-Cut Rings which are already cut out for you. Thanks for sharing with us Lynn.
A big thanks to Jamie from Phoenix, AZ for allowing us to show these 2 fabulous layouts. In "Remember the Moments" she has created a fabulous background full of circles using stamping, When creating "Love" she wanted to include many photos and they were all of average quality so she printed them quite small and cut them out with a circle punch, a great tip for bad photos.
Paige from Pasadena created these beautiful bright layouts with quite different circular elements, In "I am..." she has surrounded a large circular element with smaller circles punched from both patterned paper and sheer transparencies. She then sewed them down with circular machine stitching and then added another circle of mixed fonts describing who she is. Paige then journalled in a spiral around her central photo.
In "These two" Paige created 3 dominant flowers using layered scalloped circles. How gorgeous is the freehand swirled border that pulls all the elements on the page together.
