Journalling doesn’t have to be long, heartfelt, or detailed to be important, as Suz shows in this first layout. She is showcasing her nearly 80y ear old mother and 77 year old aunt who are kind of determined to never stop playing, travelling and having adventures, whether it be in a gondola in Venice or on the back of a motorbike this pair are determined to make the most of their long and precious lives.
Suz has used an eclectic ‘granny’ mix of Websters fabric ribbon and embellies and Prima and Sassafras papers.
A few months ago Suz took her kids to the Pancake Parlour for lunch as a treat. From the minute they walked in she realised her son was in a particularly chatty mood, and as they waited for their lunch to come she tried to record everything he was saying, in this stream of consciousness style. So often we lose the essence of our kids because although the photographs can be amazing, details, inflections in their speech, and just all the totally unimportant stuff they can go on about is lost. In this layout the photo isn’t great because it’s taken at the table with her phone, but the words are priceless.
Suz used a fun mix of Cosmo Cricket and Sassafras in this layout where she attempted to evoke the look of the Pancake Parlour with its painted walls and quirky details.
