One of the most obvious bonuses of using Glimmer Mists on a layout is that you can co-ordinate your papers and embellishments with the colours you require. Here Suz didn’t want any particular colour scheme but did want to blend lots of bits so that they worked together harmoniously. She has used Glimmer Chips and Chipboard tiles with the Foil Chips from the Heidi Swapp collection and sprayed them with various shades of Glimmer Mist. Her layout is arranged so that even though there are disparate elements they all fit together as one on the page.
When Wendy Senger and Heidi Swapp came to Australia earlier this year for their ‘Mistyfied’ tour, Suz had the opportunity to help out in their classes both here and Melbourne and in Sydney. She must have assisted in Wendy’s ‘Glimmer Mist 101’ class nearly half a dozen times, and yet when she returned home, exhausted, one of the first things she did was create her own 101 folder! This folder is a priceless collection of different techniques and tricks for using Glimmer Mist and all the Tattered Angels embellishments.
Suz decorated her cover in (of course) a rainbow of Glimmer Mist colours, and then glazed it with Glimmer Glam, one of the new Tattered Angels products. Above is just a taster of the range of pages that you can create using Glimmer Mist, and the folder that results is a brilliant reference point when creating projects.
Nic was also lucky enough to assist Heidi Swapp and Wendy Senger on their "Mistified" tour, and also at SIA back in May. Whilst there, Nic was able to take Heidi Swapp's Fastenation Folder class where Heidi showed the versatility of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist products.
This album showcases many different misting techniques both with and without Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens and perhaps the most exciting new technique of all was learning how to use Glimmer Glaze and Glimmer Glam.
Both the Glaze and the Glam are essentially the same base product however the Glam has the added bonus of having fine glitter suspended through it. Looking at the photos here of Nic's project you can see how the fine glitter gives the album cover a delicious "lift" and sense of glamour. Nic sprayed several colours of Glimmer Mist onto the cover, allowing to dry before buffing to a shine. She was left with a matte finish which was then given a huge burst of contrast and glam by first applying Glimmer Glaze all over and then highlighting with Glimmer Glam!"
If you know Louise's style of scrapbooking then you know that she loves to combine upcycled/recycled, vintage and traditional scrapbooking products. These Tattered Angels Inspired projects are no exception. Here Louise has created projects that show how fabulously Tattered Angels Products can be used with every day items, with wonderful creative effect.
For her first layout, 'So So', Louise has used the card back from a patterned cardstock paper pad. She has then covered it with tissue gift wrap. It has been applied using a simple method, just using a glue stick adhesive. This has then been covered with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. This has been allowed to pool and dribble in some areas, to add to the creative effect. For this particular layout Louise has put the protective paper backing from the adhesive side of a Regal Alpha Chip Frame on the background before applying the tissue paper. This adds a nice subtle dimensional effect, especially when the regal chip frame is added over the top. Louise has used a combination of Regal Chip Alpha Frames and Pocket Watch Alphas, coated in Cosmos Glimmer mist to embellish her layout. To add that special touch she has also used a Tattered Angels shaker box bubble. It holds some gorgeous silver and pink bling. You can also see from the close up that Louise has sprayed and dribbled the Marshmallow and Cosmos Glimmer Mist around and over it to subtly blend it to the layout.
For this layout Louise has kept it very simple. She has used the butterfly stamp from the Graceful Journey Clear Stamp Range to create a wonderful effect, that not only showcases the photo, but also indicates the joy of the occasion being scrapped. Louise once again has used tissue paper on her white background cardstock. A simple but effective method of, random splats of Black Magic and Oriental Poppy Glimmer Mist have been used to add extra visual interest and balance to the layout.
For this off the page project Louise has created a very simple but quirky necklace, utilising a butterfly from the Nature Butterfly Framed Font Alpha Chip range. This has been embossed with a beautiful and bright silver embossing powder. To get the wonderful white dappled effect you can see from the close up, Louise has generously coated it with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and then dried it quickly with a heat gun. This actually reheats the embossing and sets the pooled glimmer mist into the embossing. The effect is them permanent.
