Today we begin showing the 2011 releases from all our suppliers, and we start with 7 Gypsies, who as ever have a fabulous stash of treasures and patterns to indulge all our gypsy fantasies!

Nic Howard had some pretty special photos after her recent trip to South Africa.  Choosing to make the most of the real estate that a double layout offers, Nic enlarged her favourite photo to 8 x 12" and spanned it across her page.  Three smaller photos create a visual triangle across the page while bordering each side of some lengthy journaling.  Nic chose Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934 as her main source of papers and embellishments, although if you look closely you will also see touches of Webster's Wonderfall and some older Pink Paislee and Sassafras Lass as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

When Sue thinks of travel pages, she often thinks of the colour scheme of orange, green and blue. For some reason, travel photos always seem to work well with this palette. Although Sue and her family don't do a lot of traveling, they do fly home to Mackay occasionally to see their families. On this occasion, Sue and her husband Jade, surprised their kids by not telling them where they were going until they were in the airport.

It was the first time they had flown together as a family. Luckily Sue has a few photos to remember the occasion. Sue used papers and embellishments from Little Yellow Bicycle for her layout and added in the beautiful gold rub-ons from Hambly and the cute tags from 7 Gypsies.

 

 

Kathie and her husband spent a week in Paris at the end of a European vacation in 2002. The memories are still fresh, even though it was almost ten years ago. In this layout Kathie’s showcased some of the photos from that week and accompanied them with Parisian style page elements.

Kathie set out with a different plan for this layout, but then a piece of Webster’s Pages Life Portrait ribbon fell out of her stash and set the design on a whole new path. The Twiddleybitz Nero Flourish reminds Kathie of the wrought iron window and fence treatments that are so predominant on Parisian architecture. The 7gypsies Avignon stamps were perfect for the introduction of some French text and embellishments.

Kathie kept the page design simple and made sure to leave loads of room to journal about her Parisian stay.

The new Oliver range from Basic Grey was just perfect for this layout about Louise's own little monkey. The masculine colours, combined with the fun animals suit a huge variety of ages and themes, making it a very versatile range.

By basing her layout on some white cardstock, Louise was able to bring the focus back to the photos with careful use of colour and some fun clusters of elements.

 

 

Janine loved the fine subtle prints of this line for layering but then she could add bold splashes of colour by hand- cutting out the large flowers from the paper to reflect her main embellishing focal point of the chipboard flowers in the range. She also enjoyed using the co-ordinating decorative tape to add more interest to the page.

 

 

Wander is the new travel range by BasicGrey. As you can see in this layout the earthy colours are so versatile that they can be used for many other pages as well as travel ones. That's the beauty of double sided paper! Caz has scrapped a layout about the 2 wild ducks that have chosen to live in her pool this spring.

 

Iris usually works with bright colors... when asked to create a layout with the BasicGrey Pyrus line, Iris had to think of ways to add more color to the page while still highlighting the beautiful patterns and colors of the Pyrus line. She achieved this by adding bright yellow mists and lime green paint. Adding a few brightly colored felt flowers ties everything together.

 

Abbey Crooks considers BasicGrey Pyrus as one of her favourite paper lines of the year! The colours and designs are perfect for autumn and went great with the photo of her children.

 

Susan Gray created this adorable layout featuring a photo her best friend Lori. She says.. "We are both animal lovers & this is her latest rescue Koko. The colours in the photo seemed perfect to go with the fall colors of Pyrus. I used raffia not only because it's a fall decoration but because our cats will make a toy of it."

 

The talented Leah Killian created this layout at a time of great happiness and gratitude. The autumn colors were perfect for the spirit of harvest and thankfulness that she was scrapping about! The ruffle is made using a Martha Stewart Border punch, and sewn on.

 

 

Alicia Geiss has created this adorable LO using the new BasicGrey Olivia range. She has and cut around the hearts,and flowers to add bold elements of patterned paper and the touch of buttons in the flowers adds texture, along with the ribbon stem. Thanks so much for sharing this delightful page with us Alicia.

 

This adorable page was created by the talented Kelly Goree using the new BasicGrey Olivia range. She has used a subtle mix of the papers, fabulously layered to compliment this heartwarming picture. A totally inspiring page.

 

Alicia Giess shows just how versatile this range is by achieving a completely different look by adding a neutral paper base and some Glimmer Mist. The handwritten journalling completes the personal touch on this sweet and personal layout.

 

 

This cute layout from Nancy Damiano just bursts with colour and is just perfect with her photos. By layering her arrow and star elements, she achieves dimension and interest without cluttering her layout and the result is very eyecatching.

We R Memory Keepers Retro Glam is a very bright and funky colour scheme, and Carole loved all the glittered flowers, perfect for embellishing along with the glittered alphas and lovely lace trim, fun for your girly layouts.

 

 

Carole also created this fun card using We R Memory Keepers Retro Glam, all the glitter and flowers make it so easy to create a pretty card with, finished off with the Lace Black Trim.

 

Iris had fun creating this page about her daughter's reunion with her first doll. Iris worked with a white base and misted it, painted it, and stamped on it to create a fun and colourful base for the beautiful papers and stickers from WRMK Retro Glam.

 

Debbie Fitzgerald created this bright and fun double layout using the We R Show & Tell Collection, and as you can see what an adorable layout, with plenty of embellishing and such gorgeous photos, thanks so much Debbie for sharing this layout with us.

Aida Haron creates a bright and cheerful layout that matches the fun character of her daughter. Hand cut clouds, vertically placed title, and layered embellishments take this beautiful layout to a whole new level of texture and visual interest.

Michelle Lindenmayer created a fun and energetic layout with the WRMK papers. She used strips of patterned paper to create the base for her page and then added a strip of photos as well. Fun chipboard shapes and a title adds dimension and detail that finishes the page off wonderfully.

Despite it being 8 years since Janine went to Fiji, she has not scrapped her Fiji trip! She didnt wish to create a whole album of pages, so chose to do a double LO to briefly capture some of the main highlights of the trip, from the good to the bad! As can be seen by the photos, Fiji was stunning, but her youngest son at the time broke his arm at the airport when they arrived.

Janine chose to use the gorgeous Websters Pages Seaside Retreat range for these pictures as she knew the colours were perfect and the images on the papers were perfect for handcutting to embellish her page. The suitcases were a perfect reminder that her son fell of their luggage when he broke his arm and the boats were a wonderful reminder of the highlight of the trip, going by boat out to a glorious little island.

Janine also adored the matching Websters lettering, with both the larger and smaller size letters, which was the perfect thing for her long title.

 

 

Recently Louise attended the Papercraft and Stamping Convention in Brisbane. Afterwards she spent time being a tourist and catching up with her arty/crafty friends. This brief was just perfect for recording the day she spent as a tourist on Southbank. Louise has created a collection of postcards using the fabulous new Teresa Collins Travel Ledger range.

This particular range lends itself perfectly to all types of projects; mini books and albums, layouts etc. For her postcards Louise has bundled them all together and tied them up with string. However if you much prefer to 'display' your postcards you cant go past the WeR Memory Keepers Album Sleeves which come in an assortment of configurations. Louise has also popped her postcards into a photo sleeve to show you how this can be done.

 

 

 

 

 

Louise went away from her normal style to create this vibrant, fun layout that is instantly recognisable as Disney. As the photos were all taken before the advent of digital cameras, she was limited to a few prints but managed to incorporate the best parts of them on a single page while keeping the focus very much on the heading.

Janine loves the open design of the new release SIIC images! What she enjoys doing the most with them is sticking them onto similar coloured paper and cutting around the outline to enhance the visual effect of the crystals as she has done on this page. The crystals become a bold statement to the page and add a gorgeous element of sparkle.

 

The Donna Downey Prima products are absolutely gorgeous in real life, according to Sue. Sue especially loved the canvas tags and wanted to make a feature out of them for her layout. They made the perfect backdrop for a lovely photo taken of her daughter Lily, a few years ago, fast asleep in her fairy dress with her teddy bear. It was a common sight in Sue’s home back then but she is very glad she took the time to photograph it.

Sue chose one of the beautiful papers from the Prima Annalee range to complement the tags and canvas flowers. The canvas tags add a wonderful texture to the page and Sue enhanced them even further by adding some gorgeous stitching.

The word ‘loved’ in Sue’s title is an iron on transfer from the Donna Downey range. Traditionally they are designed for using on fabric or canvas but did you know they can also be applied to cardstock? Simply follow the same instructions included in your packet and it works a dream. Sue then carefully cut around the letters to create a title for her page.

 

Sue loved the simplicity of the design of her pink page, so she decided to replicate it for a boy page. Sue chose a lovely photo of her nephew Iziah and this time, instead of keeping a monochromatic colour scheme, she added in some green too. The green compliments the beautiful blue tags perfectly. There is a black iron on transfer in the same pack as the pink one so it is great value to be able to complete two pages.

This is a gorgeous album created by Daniela Dobson to showcase her photos of Paris. Daniela used the new Donna Downey Canvas tags for the pages of her album. She cut the large tag in half to make the front and back of the album. The tag sets come with three canvas tags and three paper tags. Daniela added the Prima packaging and a canvas journaling tag for her other pages and embellished using the new Prima Masks and the gorgeous pearls and flowers that Prima is known for.

What can be more fun to use for toddler pages than Sassafras Count Me In papers? Iris made this page using Count Me In papers combined with Mix and Mend papers to add subtle colors of green and teal into the layout. The Sassafras Felt caterpillar adds the final cute touch to this page.

 

Reading the entire Harry Potter series aloud to her children is possibly both one of the most time consuming and rewarding things Suz is currently doing with her kids, and well worth recording on a scrapbook page.  The aquas and greens of the room were perfectly reflected in the Sassafras Mix and Mend range and one of the Sass owl felties seemed a perfectly appropriate embellishment.

 

 

 

 

 

These two stunning layouts come from Leeann Pearce as Sassafras is one of her favourite brands.  We love her eclectic mix of elements placed seemingly effortlessly yet perfectly on the page to create fabulously fun and funky memoirs.

 

Jill was drawn to the bright, fun patterned paper by Sassafras Lass. It was perfect for a photo of her twin daughters playing together.She went with a black and white photo since the patterned paper was so busy. She also used sprayed with red mist for added texture.

The new Chalkboard Glimmer Mists from Tattered Angels are the perfect medium to use with the new Parisian Anthology paper from Pink Paislee. The resist design that appears when covered with ink or chalks adds a new dimension to the papers, and with a huge range of Glimmer Mists to choose from, you can easily create and customise your own backgrounds.

Louise loved how easy it was to create a co-ordinating paper using the Chalkboard Glimmer Mists (a more opaque version of the usual ones). She also used it to quickly colour the chipboard and give it a dazzling finish.

 

 

This eye-catching layout from the very talented Leeann Pearce perfectly illustrates the masking effects you can achieve with Glimmer Mist. The pegasus look and background words and splatters she's created are the perfect subtle details to bring this fun, child themed page together.

 

 

 

Hilde Janbroers has used the Glimmer Mist to add a soft accent colour to a piece of printed paper, showing you don't have to start with a completely blank canvas to utilise these spray inks to beautiful, dramatic effect.

Louise just loved working with the Paddington range of papers. Whilst many find it hard to work with a range that is just in the 2 tones of black and white, the creative opportunities are endless as they are so easily matched with bright primary colours. The patterns and designs in the Paddington range are timeless and lend themselves to a broad range of topics that you might want to scrap.

Louise has chosen to keep it simple and has created 3 layouts, introducing 3 different bright colours [red, pink and yellow] to coordinate with this basic black and white range. Louise has used small amounts of the patterned paper, on a white background to embellish and showcase her photos. The small touches of bright colour, with the titles brads/eyelets and background spray mist, just finish the layouts off perfectly.

 

Louise loved the modern vintage look of the new 7 Gypsies Conservatory range. Using one of their amazing printer trays, she created this keepsake using the papers as a base and created a flowing plant design from imagery cut from the same papers and pop dotted into the sections. By adding lots of little touches including flowers, keys and a bird (also cut from the papers), the design has a coherent flow and lots of little details.

The pearl swirls add a sophisticated finishing touch to this family legacy.

 

 

 

A big thank you to Anna Dabrowska for letting us show this awesome layout featuring the 7 Gypsies Paddington papers. Anna has used these papers in such a wonderful mix of grunge and feminine styles. It looks beautiful. thank you Anna for allowing us to share your creativity.

 

 

This beautifully feminine layout from Veronica Goh shows the versatility of this range. By distressing, tearing and rolling the edges to show both sides of the papers, she has added depth and dimension as well as bringing focus to the photo. The large co-ordinated alphabet adds subtle detailing and the touches of lace complete the modern vintage look.

 

This stunning layout from Sharon Ong showcases the conservatory range at its best. By cutting out elements from the gorgeous papers and adding copious amounts of inking and details, Sharon has combined a modern photo with vintage look elements beautifully.
