We were wondering… would you like the chance to be on the Sassafras Guest Design Team?
If so, read on!
This week we bring you a very special, bumper edition of our weekend inspiration – and it comes with a really exciting invitation. The team at Sassafras have agreed to be a part of our first Guest Design Team Challenge!
What does this mean?
This means, that over the next few weeks, if you send us your most amazing, most fabulous creations using your favourite Sassafras papers and embellishments, we will feature them all in a post on our blog, and the team from Sassafras will choose a winning artist. The winner will receive a prize pack from Sassafras of a whole range of their newest products, which you will then use in projects to feature on the Sassafras blog as a Guest Design Team Member!
Check out the fine print for details below and, if you need Sassafras product for this challenge, check out your local scrapbooking store. They will have received news about this promotion in our latest newsletter and will be stocking up on Sassafras products (the new lines from CHA have just arrived in the warehouse!) for you to use in your projects.

Good luck!
When cleaning out her daughters room recently, Suz found her first, tiny ballet slipper, and knew straight away that even though it was a little bulky, she wanted to scrap it. Trying to find a photo of Phoebe actually wearing the slipper though, proved more difficult than she had anticipated. Finally the only one she found was of her on her way to her first lesson – every other picture she was, as she still almost permanently is, barefooted.
Suz has used the wonderful Sassafras Paper Crush papers in this layout – their warm pinky tones working perfectly with the slipper – and showing that there’s definitely plenty of life left to this range after Valentines Day!
Sassafras’ Ellie’s Tale line is packed full of vintage colour. Kathie was immediately attracted to the reds and yellows in the colour palette and has used pages predominately of those colours to create a warm, happy page featuring a photo of her mother in 1943. One of the new Foldies forms the major accent across the bottom of the page, to which Kathie’s added a scattering of other embellishments.
Kathie loves to mix up collections a bit and if you look closely, you’ll see that she’s added some touches from other Sassafras’ lines including Apple Jack, Cherry Delicious, Woodland Whimsy and Anthem. It all comes together to create a delightful, colourful, vintage page.
Iris admits that this is to date her favourite line from Sassafras Lass. She finds the colours and pattern so beautiful and so easy to use. It only took the addition of a few embellishments and some stamping to complete this page in a short time. This line is perfect if you want to create beautiful and detailed pages in a snap.
Iris loved this new product from Sassafras Lass " Die-cut Foldies". Want dimension and fancy cuts? Sassafras has the perfect solution. Iris completed this page in only a few minutes. The die-cut foldies are designed in such a way that all you need to do is take the die-cut, fold it where the instructions say so, adhere to you page, and you have got for yourself a page filled with the look of hand-cut flowers and the dimension of pop-up embellishments.
Tracie Hudson, Devon UK, is a member of the Sassafras Design Team. She’s created this delightful page using the Count Me In range. We love the banner that floats across the page, connecting the two panels of pattern paper. Tracie has made good use of the new “Garden Bits” on this page and says that they’re really fun to play with. Plus, they work really well when combined with the Sassafras Paper Whimsies.
Treesa Young in Perth has used Sassafras’ Indie Girl range to create this page about her daughter having a tea party with her dolls. Treesa says that she had wanted to scrap these pictures of her daughter for ages but had never found the right paper until she saw this line. It was ideal, given that it is a bit girly, and a bit vintage, all in one.
Sarah Webb from Southwestern Ontario Canada created this layout which was inspired by the patterned paper itself. Sarah simply added the pictures on and was almost ready to call it done. She did add a few embellishments to add some dimension to the page, but it was quick and easy! Her daughter used to called dandelions that have gone to seed, 'flower puffs' thus the title of the layout.
Amy Heller created this stunning fall layout using Sassafras Lass papers and chipboard shapes. The "Mix and Mend" collection lent itself perfectly to these fall-themed images of her kids at the pumpkin patch. Amy loves the collection’s sweet warm feel, texture, and pops of vibrant colour. She used many of their chipboard elements and stitched florals along with their glitter alphas to create a whimsical take on the traditional pumpkin patch layout.
And even more inspiration with thanks to the amazing Sassafras design team
Kimberly Neddo created a beautiful page – with a stunning photo as her starting point – using Mix & Mend, Garden Bits chipboard and Top Ten Chipboard.
This is the kind of striking layout which though it doesn’t look too busy at first glance, but the more you look the more detail you see. Jen Jockish has used Mix&Mend, Count Me In and Indie Girl papers.
Finally, Marla Kress has also used the beautiful new foldies on her layout, over the wonderful neutral background of the Starters line of papers.
So… would you like to join these talented designers as a guest on the Sassafras blog? We’re looking forward to seeing your entries – remember you have until midnight on 25 March to send in your projects - and you have a great excuse to go Sassafras scrap supplies shopping!
