Kathie has made great use of the patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket’s Upcycle range to create a cute page about her friend’s little daughter. The background for the layout is a sheet of bright cheery dots from the range. Kathie toned it down somewhat by dry brushing it with white acrylic paint then overlayed the rest of her elements over it.
The frame for her focal photo, the flowers, the butterfly, the heart and the word panels have also been cut from the patterned papers in the range. The only other additions are a couple of strips of bright ribbon, some felt flowers and Cosmo’s letter stickers.
The subtle colours of the Social Club line from Cosmo Cricket were perfect for a softer style of layout. By cutting out the peacock feather images, Louise framed the photo and added dimension and interest all at the same time. Journalling boxes cut from the papers completed the look of this simple but effective page.
Deana Boston used the Social Club papers perfectly with this fun and detailed layout about a night out. By utilising the imagery of the papers and creating her own embellishment groupings, the bright paper background is not overpowering and brings the whole page together cohesively.
With some detail cutting and a mix of papers, Elizabeth Carney has brought the Social Club line together beautifully into a modern, sophisticated layout. The pop of red lifts the design and the clever use of the journalling blocks and stamps ground the grouping and give it real interest.
Lady Grace Belarmino, Philippines, has used Upcycle to create this gorgeous layout. We love the scalloped layers she’s created and the way she’s scattered butterflies over the white space on her photo.
To create her scalloped strips, she tells us that she cut several strips from her background cardstock using a favourite border punch. She then covered the little punched out areas on the strips with different patterns from a piece of patterned paper from the collection. The overall effect is a wonderful patchwork.
The handbag paper from the Upcycle line works so well for this lively page, created by Fran Tynan, from Morawa in Western Australia. Doesn’t that photo just make you smile? Fran tells us that her middle child, Claire is “such a goose” and provides her with lots of scrapping material. This photo shows Claire getting ready to go out and ride a horse - and she just had to look the part, hot pink boots and all!
We love that Fran has allowed white space around her photo which places it fair and square as the focal point on the layout. The addition of the spotted ribbon, and the journaling on the masking tape add a groovy twist.
