Danielle had an amazing time working with her Shadowbox Tray from 7gypsies, turning both the tray and her memory jar into a celebration of light and memory. The tray was filled with Sassafras 'Sunshine Broadcast' backgrounds, which were further enhanced with cardstock and journaling stickers from the same gorgeous range.
Measuring and cropping to size, Danielle also used photographs of each of her three children as backgrounds for some sections of the tray, all three photos being from the same impromptu photo session in a canola field last year, adding to the sense of nostalgia and the common thread of light and sunshine. The embellishments selected simply add to the theme, with Tim Holtz light bulbs, Prima flowers, leaves and butterflies and Webster’s Pages bloomers all making an appearance
A handwritten quote - one of Danielle's favourites - ties in the theme of childhood and sunny air, and is echoed on the memory jar as well. A piece of driftwood, a sprig of yarrow flowers... each element has been carefully chosen to tug the heartstrings and bring a smile to her face. Danielle plans to keep this on display near her creative space, as a reminder of her inspiration and simple love of creativity and sunshine.
Danielle's memory jar is an extension of her display tray design, echoing the same quote with a line also handpainted on the outside of the glass. Some elements are the same as the tray - such as the light bulbs, the Sassafras 'Sunshine Broadcast' journaling labels and the Prima butterfly. A photo of her three children together from that same photo session, and a cheery plastic flower to add a kitschy touch of sunny light, ties the memories together with the quote.
It was such lovely fun for Danielle, creating the jar, and has created a sweet keepsake that is likely to appear in various corners of her home as time goes on.
Danielle's 7 year old daughter, Sienna, wouldn't be left out of the creativity happening with the memory jars, and made one of her own. She created a cute little snow theme and added some Prima trim and butterfly to very sweet effect.
