Louise W loves the printer trays and has done a number of them, but this one is a special gift for her mother. Having very few family photo's to access from her mothers childhood makes this one a very personal reminder of the past, while including some beautiful details from the scrapbooking present.
Using the stunning Butterfly Garden range from Pink Paislee, Louise has added some feminine detailed touches including fussy cut flowers and butterflies and handmade cotton reels.
The cotton reels were made by rolling up and gluing strips of the paper and gluing on some punched and inked circle shapes top and bottom before winding some stained muslin around and securing with some Jillibean Soup pins.
They add a homestyle, vintagy touch to the tray along with a handmade medallion flower, finished with a handmade polymer clay flower centre for interest.
Creating a jar full of memories is almost as tricky as photographing it afterwards! The jar co-ordinates with the printers tray and uses the same papers and techniques but has a more homespun feel with the addition of seam binding ribbon and muslin.
Louise created a photo montage along with some handmade cotton reels and vintage buttons for this tribute to her grandmother who passed away a few years ago.
A co-ordinating paper rosette created from a strip of the same paper as used inside the jar is an interesting alternative to the usual flowers and adds to the overall handmade feel.
