This style is not usually seen in many of Iris' pages. Being a designer that is more keen to whimsical and romantic pages, working with Studio Calico papers were initially difficult for her. The beauty of these kinds of papers however - subdued prints with bright colours, is that it allows the photos to shine!

Kathie loves the subdued palette of Studio Calico’s Countryside collection. It’s colourful and yet restrained which makes it extremely versatile. Kathie layered a combination of patterned papers from the collection onto a kraft cardstock background for a colourful yet masculine page. The rub-on clouds and birdies add a playful feel to the page, and team nicely with BasicGrey Hopscotch bloomers and a brightly painted Twiddleybitz whimsy bird friend.
Nicole Samuels, USA, has used the Countryside collection for this next page. Nicole used the die-cut paper from the collection as the backdrop to her page. The subtle woodgrain effect adds a touch of interest to what would otherwise be a plain cardstock background.
