It’s been a while since we’ve had a look at scrapbooking trends, and they are so much fun at the moment! Freshly back from CHA, there’s some wonderful products and design ideas coming up.
One of the most pervasive currently is that of chevrons. Check out the projects below from our design team and beyond!
Chevrons are such a popular trend in the scrapbooking world at the moment. There are many patterned papers that feature chevron patterns. Sue says it is also fun to create your own by cutting triangles of patterned papers and arranging them in a chevron pattern. A little inking and stitching help to make a lovely feature for your page.
Sue discovered that it was easier to adhere the chevrons to a separate piece of cardstock first, cut off the excess and then add it to your page.
Chevrons are such an awesome craze right now. Leeann says creating this pattern is super easy. She loves the fact you can really mix it up using lots of leftover papers. Leeann has used a mixed of pattern papers by Basic Grey – Green at Heart along with some chevron washi tape by Amy Tangerine.
Leeann has used the chevron pattern to create her background giving it an artsy feel, by not completing the pattern right across the page.
Suz went for a more subtle chevron pattern, choosing to use one of the cool Crafters Workshop templates and a fine spray of Glimmer Mist. Working over patterned paper gives the design another layer of interest.
Anabelle O’Malley makes perfect use of chevrons in this layout she designed with American Crafts products. From the larger but sutly shaded design in the background to the smaller brighter chevrons in the banner, it’s clear she knows how to work them!
Finally, we found some fabulous chevron stamps from Hero Arts and gorgeous examples of using them above by Lisa Spangler.
