Punches and dies have long been one of the most economical embellishments out there – reusable and versatile – and you can change their look in as many different ways as you have scrapbook layouts.
From EK Success and Martha Stewart punches, to Sizzix, Memory Box and Poppy Stamps dies, we have a host of them we’d like to introduce to you in our new blog series. We hope to inspire you to find new uses for the punches and dies you already have, as well as perhaps stock up on a few new ones!

Here Suz has created an ombre effect with one of her favourite Decorative Strip Dies – Autumn Gatherings by Tim Holtz. She has combined it with a contrasting lilac colour palette and the Martha Stewart 3-in-1 Hydrangea punch to create this pretty double page layout.

The key to beauty is simplicity and repetition in this gorgeous art journal cover by Jilly van Iperen. She has decorated the cover of this journal by painting it with a rough layer of gesso and then further distressing it with sandpaper. She has then replicated the simple butterfly shape in different patterned papers to create this soft and beautiful look.
