Louise chose to take more of a project life style approach and created 6 postcards to document her recent travels to a Scrapbooking Retreat. Louise loves the idea of creating postcards to showcase her travel photos as it fits perfectly with the travel theme.

Going out to travel is such an exciting time. Coming home with loads of pictures and mementos from your trip can be your ticket to an equally exciting time for your crafting. Iris Babao Uy shares with us two ways to document your travel photos. First, she shares with us a fun layout about her kids having a grand time at Universal Studios, Singapore. She used stickers and cut-out patterned paper from the Simple Stories "Urban Traveller" collection for her page.

Next, she shows us a quick an easy way to document their travel memories using the "Project Life" approach to scrapbooking. After a trip, you will definitely have loads of photos but then you may not have the time to put all of these down on scrapbook pages. To make it easier to get all your photos in an album while the memories are still fresh, you can opt to do it in this style. You just slip in the cards and the photos and add your journalling. Simple, easy, fast, and still beautiful!

Everday Moments: Hobbies & Creativity: Week 4

Swimming is one of James' {Mel's son} newest hobbies. In this layout Mel stitched the Strano ribbon into position, creating a wave effect on the ribbon to represent the swirls of the water. The Heidi Swapp endless summer decorative tape was a nice finishing touch to the page combined with a splash of hand stitching.

Rach has a tradition of going to the Australian Open every year, and so wanted to capture that on a layout!  Rach has used circular elements to convey the theme and created these fun green & white striped tennis balls by adhering the Alice Strano Ribbon to circles, trimming them and then adding some pen lines.  Around her ticket case (which contains her tickets) she put the details of the two visits, who she went with and who she saw.

Tamar loves the photo editing process - it's a chance to create and turn the photos into something like they should look - if she was a photographer. Tamar edited these very ordinary shots with some tricks she learnt on a photography blog and she liked they way they turned out.

Tamar kept the layout simple - focusing on the black and white conversion by using lots of black and distressed white. The pink BasicGrey ribbon softens the look as does the painted pink centre heart.

Caz’s two daughters love to dance. Jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop and ballroom. There isn’t really a dance around that they haven’t tried yet. Jordan is shown pictured with some of her dance shoes, about to go to dance classes. She gave Caz one shot to get a photo of her. Luckily it worked.

As the wall colour was very hard to match, Caz chose a strano ribbon that had quite different colours as a contrast. The heading is made with Heidi Swapp ghost letters and a button with a ‘J’ on it finishes off the simple embellishments.

Marni and her husband love to read, resulting in a bookshelf full of books. They read every night before going to sleep and sometimes even like to curl up with a book on a lazy afternoon after work. Marni particularly loves the way a good book can open your mind and take you to another world.

For this layout she chose to work with mostly Basic Grey product. Marni cut out flowers from the Romani range of papers and layered them on top of each other with foam tape. To add some more interest she also put the flowers down on some strips of co-ordinating Strano Design ribbon. To finish the layout off and create her title Marni used some Basic Grey letters stickers, Blush monograms and Heidi Swapp rub-ons.

Everyday Moments: Creativity/Hobbies Week 3

Rach totally adores this ribbon released for the EDM competition as she had a hand in designing it and naming it after her daughter.

Jennifer from Strano also sent her all the offcuts of the ribbons used for the magazine onsert so with so many short pieces Rach set to work on making this layout. It uses a simple design that lets the beautiful colour of the ribbon show, and matched it with a series of photos of her taking photos.

When Marni found out she was moving to Mackay her only condition was that she had her own scrapping space. Well it turned out that there was not enough rooms in the house but she did get part of the garage and after some hard work it has become the envy of all her friends.

For this layout Marni used Strano Designs ribbon to create a photo mat. The ribbon is nice and wide so it did not take much effort. As the ribbon was so bright and colourful Marni did not want to add much colour to the rest of her layout so she used black to tone it down a little. Black Heidi Swapp letter stickers, stitching, Lil Davis chipboard letters, Junkitz flowers and Basic Grey rub ons all help to ground the layout.

This layout is about Caz’s husband and the group of mates that he goes fishing with. Every couple of years they plan a week away to a different destination and fish to their hearts content. No nagging wives, no annoying kids, and sometimes no fish...!

To keep it manly embellishments were kept to a minimum. 2 different sized Strano ribbons echo the beautiful blues in the sky and ocean. The heading is made from Heidi Grace Individual Monogram Letters and the junkitz button says Friends-Buddies-Pals.

One of the things Tamar loves most about being creative is the chance to share that with others - she loves making gifts for Christmas and now that she is a scrapbooker she just does photo style gifts as well. These photos are a few of the gifts Tamar made this year and before she wrapped them she snapped theses shots - one way to remember what Tamar made in 2006.

Tamar chose a neutral background with the Lil Davis papers and added plenty of chipboard for good measure - she loves the heidi swapp letters - and the chance to put that great big title onto one layout.

Mel's son James enjoys building and painting model tanks in his spare time, so this was a perfect layout opportunity for Mel.

The Basic Grey fruitcake (vintage ornaments/pine) patterned paper she chose gave a good boyish feel to the page and using some Strano ribbon to create a large photo corner helped to balance the layout well.

Everyday Moments: Creativity/Hobbies Week 2

Caz’s eldest daughter Darcy has 3 loves. Chocolate, cooking and telling people what to do. She is torn between becoming a wedding planner or a Chef Pâtissière when she grows up. So she was in her element when Jess and his friend Josh wanted to help make double choc chip cookies one day. Luckily they were having so much fun that they didn’t mind being bossed around.

Another layout focussing on the photo. Title is ‘On the Dot’ by We R Memory Keepers. Patterned paper by Basic Grey and ribbon is Frannie by Strano Designs.

Another hobby Rachel loves is cooking and entertaining. She loves to experiment in the kitchen and adores her Donna Hay Magazine, for simple but delicious food, and even more than cooking for her family, she loves to create a feast for friends and family. A good bottle of wine and this is something Rach loves more than most other things, so she chose to represent it here on a page. These photos are of her Christmas dinner a great meal with so many great family members, and a most wonderful day.

Tamar says she actually has no idea how she functioned before she became a coffee addict - and she doesn't like it black. She likes TALL GRANDE HUGE with full strength milk and if would drink it all day if she could! - whenever the creativity start waning at night her husband goes out and gets her a coffee - a quick hit always helps!

Tamar's layout is a bit whimsical - a quick thinking photo captured the other night when they were chilling out at starbucks - she knew it would come in handy at some point. Those BasicGrey papers are great for cutting out accents. Tamar placed the strips and flower onto pop dots for dimension.

This layout was all about Mel's husband's new hobby - fishing. She chose to keep the page simple using just a few elements to tie everything together. The Strano ribbon (marina) was the perfect colouring to match in with the blue sea featured in the large photograph on the layout.

Mel's Journaling reads: So you bought a huge fishing rod for your new hobby. You were determined that this rod was going to catch us a big feed of flat head for our dinner. So, we fished and fished and fished. You fished, I fished. We took it in turns. It seems like we were fishing for hours, but still nothing - no fish, no flathead, nothing! I guess there is always next time. Let's hope so.

Everyday Moments: Hobbies/Creativity - Week 1

Caz’s son Jesse is obsessed with Pirates. In particular the movie “Pirates of the Carribean’.  He lay-byed this ship from the movie himself and then paid it off with his pocket money (which at $2 a week took quite a while) so it is one of his most prized possessions. He spends hours on end, playing with his pirates, dressing up as one, drawing intricate ships with lots of rigging and pirates on them and watching the movies over and over again. It is definitely his biggest hobby.

Caz kept the layout simple to showcase the photo. The title is from Heidi Swapp. The patterned paper from Basic Grey and the stitched ribbon is by Strano Designs, this months onsert sponsors.

Since becoming a scrapbooker 4 years ago photography has become a hobby of Marni's.  So for this her first in the last series of Everyday Moments layouts she has decided to dedicate it to the art of photography.

Marni used Photoshop Elements to create a montage of some photos she has taken over the last 12 months. She used Strano Designs ribbon and machine stitching to create her own patterned background. As well as this she also used a Heidi Swapp bling frame to draw your attention to an important photo. To finish the layout off Marni used a combination of Heidi Swapp alphabets to create her title.

This photo was taken at the scrapbooking convention last August of Rach by a friend. She loves the photo and it sums up how great the hobby of scrapbooking is! It is more than just sticking photos on paper and telling her story, it is getting the opportunity to catch up with friends, make new ones, laugh, share, work together and have fun.

At the time Rach was working in Canberra and her good friend and boss Cheryl gave her these Strano Lanyards, so Rach decided to go all Strano out on the page, using a new product from Strano that allows you to die cut ribbon with no fray!! It is awesome and she created flowers, photo corners and letters using her Quickutz.

Keep your eyes on your local store, this stuff will change the way you use ribbon, its amazing!

This is one of those moments you just have to document – and in years to come we will say – Remember when Talia used to … Its all about how one night she stayed up till 10.30 creating cards for her friends at daycare - The photos are blurry taken late at night but Tamar couldnt resist and it was an everyday moment that she really loves to scrap about.

SEI- chalk background is perfect for lots of colour and by making the ribbon border around the main photo Tamar has placed the emphasis on her daughter who the story is about - The Lil Davis flock ribbons are lovely to work with!

 

Crocheting is one of Mel's new hobbies that she is trying to master. For this page she selected the Basic Grey Blush patterned papers, the chocolate tones of the papers to help pick up the chocolate wool in the photo. Mel has used the Strano onsert provided and added one strip of the ribbon under the title and a small splash of ribbon next to her journaling.

Everyday Moments - Relaxation - Week 4

Nothing is more relaxing for Mel than hanging out with her two children when she can and why not create a layout purely to celebrate this. Mel decided to keep this page simple using two photographs as the main focus and adding a large title (the Lil Davis vintage wood shapes are perfect) plus journaling. By selecting the Basic Grey Romani (Gypsy) patterned and plain papers it gave the page the bright and happy feel that Mel was looking for.

If Marni had to choose one place on Earth that she felt more at home than her own home it would be the water. She has been a water baby since she was born and nothing has changed. Marni finds that when she is in the water she feels relaxed and at ease (hence the regular baths LOL). This photo was taken when Marni and her husband visited Fiji in 2005.

Marni wanted to keep this layout bright and light using Lil Davis Vanderbilt paper but in the end she decided to add a little black through Heidi Swapp chipboard letters, and Basic Grey rub-ons for contrast. She got a bit creative and arty with this one, using felt, paint and watercolours to help achieve the look she was going for. Marni also used the triangle/group of three design principle a few times on this layout. She used the Basic Grey rub-ons to achieve this "triangle" twice. Note how the use of the "triangle" draws your eye to the photo.

Caz’s kids seem to relax the best when they are with their friends. It’s then that they can best be their own person, it doesn’t matter how silly they are as there is always someone else to join in.

Caz has used lil davis ‘rockstar rub-ons’ and lil davis ‘outlined chipboard alphabet’ in black to create the title. The chipboard letters all come apart so you can either seperate them out and use the insides or the outlines, or purchase different coloured packs and mix and match the outlines and inserts. Blocks of paper are from the Basic Grey Oh Baby Boy range.

These photos are a series Tamar snapped while out to dinner on New Years Day - she liked most of the shots and there was no real favourite so she used them all.  They really enjoy going out to dinner - its one of our ways they relax as a family.  Tamar just likes that she doesn't have to cook, think about what she is going to cook or clean up if they have eaten out .

Tamar has used the Heidi Swapp chipboard frames and cut them to made the photo corners and added bling - The chinese character for peace was lost on the busy Basic Grey background so I outlined it with black to make it stand out.

For this layout Rach wanted to capture what she and her sister did when they played as kids, so she focused on the journaling.  By using bright colours and pinks she captures the childhood girliness and brightens up the layout even though the photo is old. She used a large chipboard word to create the title and then finished it off with the FK onsert.

Everyday Momemts - Relaxation - Week 3

Caz has always been a reader and still has most of her childhood books ready to pass onto her kids. She still reads in bed before she goes to sleep as a way to relax (even though some nights it only takes 2 lines till she is dead to the world).  Each of her children also read in bed as a way of winding down from the day, their bedside tables usually have a large stack of books on them.

Caz has used patterned paper blocks in calming shades of blue from the Basic Grey Oh Baby Boy range. Rub-on and Chipboard alphas by Lil Davis.

Since moving to Mackay Marni and her husband spend quite a bit of time at the beach with their dogs.  She has found that when they go down there all the troubles of the world disappear if only for a little while hence the title My Sweet Escape which she borrowed from a Gwen Stefani song.

For this layout Marni cut two strips of Lil Davis patterned paper and used the circles to create a scalloped edge.  Then to create interest she punched holes along the top and bottom rows and tied some ribbon through some of them.  Marni also created her own acetate frame for the photo using Photoshop Elements and an inkjet transparency.

Tamar was so excited to get this new toy! She had to do a layout about it - relaxation stuff is few and far between for her in her life so she was struggling to think of something that she could use.  The cute apple sticker comes straight from the ipod pack!

The photo was very white so Tamar wanted to do something different with the papers - she chose BasicGrey for accents and the Lil Davis for a funky background, and kept the chipboard white to match with the ipod advertising.  The journaling is printed straight onto photo paper.

If Mel had to choose one time of the year that she finds the most relaxing, it would have to be Christmas time.  She loves everything from putting up the Christmas tree, shopping for gifts and talking about how many sleeps to go until Santa Claus arrives. 

To celebrate this she used a single photo and combined Basic Grey patterned papers with SEI velvet paper and Lil Davis chipboard Christmas words. The Lil Davis file folders are also perfect to unfold and record journaling on.

With this layout Rach wanted to record her motto, define her drivers and the qualities that are important to her.  When she is achieving these things she is the most at home with herself, so decided to take this unique view of relaxing to give her album this important page. 

She kept the embellishments simple using a strong colour scheme of black, white, red and cream, and used elements such as the flower tag and title to frame her photo, but with the arrows of the paper to highlight her journaling as well.  The photo is also unique, a self reflection taken in a tinted car window!

Everyday Moments - Relaxation - Week 2

This month Rachel chose to focus her layout on the place where her daughter is most relaxed, and for Megan it is at the beach, playing on the sand or splashing in the sea. She is such a summer girl. Rach chose to keep the layout fairly simple using strips of paper, and then used the chipboard alpha and chipboard plaques down the side.

What better way to relax than to scrap? Whether it is just shuffling around a few bits of paper while wandering through countless photos, or knocking out a layout from start to finish, when there are no deadlines looming, scrapping for Caz is her way of taking ‘me time’. Deadlines, on the other hand… well that’s a different story. Lol. Caz couldn’t resist using her favourite Basic Grey papers again, Oh Baby Girl this time. The heading was created using lil Davis products and a dymo labeller and the page is finished with machine stitching.

Nic has chosen to do this weeks layout on music, she loves listen to music to relax, and will listen to just about any sort to do this. Nic has used the Li'l Davis chipboard from the For Keeps Magazine. She has also used a mixture of Scenic Route and Li'd davis chipboard to create the title. Sceinc Route papers have been used as a background.

Marni is a thinker, she likes to think about everything and when she moved to Mackay she found this place at the top of a look-out and when something is worrying her or she just needs time away from the world this is where she goes. For this layout Marni chose to work with some funky Lil Davis patterned paper and she cut the circles out of the paper to make a frame around her photos. To complement the paper she used some Lil Davis and Heidi Swapp chipboard letters which were the wrong colour so she covered them in paper to match. Marni also used some Lil Daivs rub-ons to finish her title and an onsert from the current For Keeps.

Mel (like Marni!) loves her weekend bath, pure luxury, pure indulgence...what could be more relaxing!? The Lil Davis vintage wood chipboard letters were perfect for the large title and they blend ever so nicely with the Heidi Swapp decorative tape (Mel's favourite product at the moment). Mel used the Heidi Swapp journaling spots to give the effect of large pink bubbles on the page. She added some Heidi Swapp bling to one of the bubbles and coated this with dimensional magic for a wet and glossy feel.

Tamar loves this photo of the girls- shows how cheek y they really are - and is perfect for showcasing why she doesn't get much time to relax - hence the title Relaxation NOT.  The Li'l Davis Rock Star papers are double sided and with some thinking Tamar was able to cut the swirls from one side for the top accent and create a journaling strip form the same piece of paper.  Tamar doesn't like her handwriting much but the white accents lent itself to a white pen and handwritten journaling.  The little glitter chipboard shapes form Lil Davis are very cute - and there are heaps in a packet!

Everyday Moments - Relaxation - Week 1

Marni just loves to take baths and it has become a bit of a Sunday ritual for her. She can often be found relaxing on a Sunday afternoon while dinner is cooking in the bath with a scrapbooking magazine or book just chillin out and having some alone time.

In this layout Marni used some Lil Davis papers and complemented them with some black handcut swirls. She used one of the onserts in the current For Keeps as well as a mixture of letter stickers and chipboard letters to convey what a bath means to her.

Ahhh, relaxation for Mel equals tidy bedrooms. Nothing makes her more frustrated than dust combined with toys in the bedrooms.  Luckily both of her children are super at keeping their rooms tidy.  Sure they both play and then trash the rooms in the process but they are both quite happy to clean up when needed.

Mel scrapped photos of her daughter's room so she went with the BasicGrey Urban Couture patterned papers to tie in with the colour scheme of the room. The Lil Davis large vintage wood letters helped to highlight the first word in the title.

Hanging out with friends - is there a better to way to chill out? Nic has based her layout this time on the friendship of her daughter and best friend.  She has used the Li'l Davis Chipboard from this months For Keeps magazine, and attached it over the top of a Heidi Swapp Chipboard Flower.

Nic has also used Heidi Swapp Chipboard to create the title. The photos have been turned black and white then black ink has been used around the egdes to help the photos stand out on the mixed patterned paper background. Nic has used a mixure of BasicGrey, SEI and Scenic Route papers.

A simple style layout where the focus is on the journaling. This layout by Tamar talks about the way creating from a raw product into something of beauty is relaxing for her.  She has left the BasicGrey chipboard "raw" to demonstrate this.

Sometimes it’s relaxing for Caz to just hang around the house with the other members of her family - that would be when there are no arguments or near riots, and everyone is either getting on together or co-habiting happily in their own separate spaces.

This months theme features smaller photos mosaiced with pieces of patterned paper. Caz has used not only the lil davis chipboard onsert but also lil davis ‘rockstar rub-ons’ and their groovy ‘outlined chipboard alphabet’.

This month Rach decided to work on the theme 'Family Trips' something that they do often and is one of her favourite ways to relax. On this particular Sunday they visited the Melbourne Museum and Rach snapped all these photos in the kids area which Megan adored.

On the layout Rach has featured a mix of products including Li'l Davis Chipboard Ribbon Sliders across the centre of the page and Heidi Swapp Chipboard letters overlaying her Quickutz Title.

Everyday Moments - My Life - Week 4

For the fourth challenge Rachel Axton decided to showcase her friends who are a big part of who she is. Especially Rach who she first met in 2001, and so decided to spin the 'then and now' to talk about their relationship back then and now.  Rachel has used the xyron to adhere the Heidi Swapp Silhouette and then used a brad to further secure it.  She also decided to create her own accent with the flower, by drawing a flower on a scrap of white cardstock and securing it with a rhinestone brad.

As Marni does not have any children yet her husband and her dogs make up her world and to tell you the truth she loves her dogs like they are her kids and that's the reason for this layout. Marni hand drew then cut the backing piece for her photo out of a piece of 9x9 Heidi Swapp  patterned paper. To lift it off the page she drew around it with a black pen and sewed a frame around the photo. She continued the scalloped theme by drawing around the 3 and the hearts. Marni finished her layout with a Heidi Swapp silhouette word and some decorative tape as well.

Mel's friend Susan Doyle took these photos of Mel and her daughter Bella when they visited Melbourne last year. Mel's favourite days of her life are the relaxing ones, hanging out with friends and/or family, no work stress or other things to think about, just fun! She chose to keep this page simple adding a swirl of circles, stitching and a splash of clear buttons.

Nic has chosen to create a page based on a typical week and she has also chosen not to use any photos on this layout.

Nic has used a mixed of SEI papers, and Heidi Swapp day jouranling spots to recorded her weekly events on. Nic has overlapped the BasicGrey Sticker letters to help them stand out, and then overlapped them with the Heidi Swapp Silhouettes.

These were the days. The lovely selfish days of late nights, sleep-ins and only having to clean up after 2 people. 20 to Caz meant freedom. A house of her own, a stable job and plenty of friends to hang out with on the weekend.

For the last of her ‘My Life’ layouts Caz chose funky papers from the Basic Grey Oh Baby Girl collection to symbolise youth and being carefree. Heidi chipboard, Queen and Co flowers and brads and machine sewing finish of this months ‘theme’

Everyday Moments - My Life - Week 3

In Mel's family it has always been her eldest sister Debbie that is known for her serious addiction to handbags, shoes and watches. But lately Mel is becoming aware of her own weakness for cute handbags!  To keep this layout funky and bright to match the little crocheted bag, she used the BasicGrey Gypsy range including the gorgeous ribbons and added a dash of Heidi Swapp plastic alphabet letters for the title.

For this layout Rach wanted to capture that becoming more girly because of having a girl is a big part of her life, and she loves this photo that Mark took in their backyard in Canberra.  Rach has used lots of product and had lots of fun putting this layout together.

She wanted to use the Silhouette Word from the FK onsert which said 'My Life' but didn't want the 'my' part so she carefully cut it off and kept it for use another time. This time to attach the word Rach stapled it to the layout!

When you get old the early years tend to blur a little around the edges. This is what happened to Caz in the last 2 years of primary school. So this is a page about when she was 10 (or so)... maybe 11, who can remember that far back?! Roller skates, Boys, Sleepovers, Boys, Abba, Boys… she thinks that was pretty much how it went.  Though she admits she did actually like school back then and not just for the social side.

Caz chose some rather feminine, girly BasicGrey papers (even though she was still a bit of a tomboy) BasicGrey velvet ric-rac and a covered BasicGrey chipboard bracket. Another home-made Silhouette using a transparency and Heidi alphabet. Heidi Swapp chipboard and plastic alphas, Queen & Co flowers and brads and machine sewing keep this months theme ongoing.

Tamar's journalling reads "the best laid plans - a photo shoot with Rachel Richter carefully timed in a crazy schedule clothes props venue time all organised but we didn't check the weather - a huge thunderstorm was the end to all our planning - trying again next week."

Tamar has used the onsert from FK for the word hope and added dashed from the Lil Davis letters - she likes the titles on this page - Photo Shoot - Hopes Dashed and Laugh Loudly. - the mini titles altogether give good overview of the experience really.

The past year has been a huge one for Marni and her husband so she went in search of a photo taken a year ago and one taken more recently to document some of the changes that they have gone through.  Marni does not like to journal but when she does she likes to hide it so the two photos on this layout actually lift up to reveal the journalling about each year.  She created the hinges that allow her photos to lift up using Heidi Swapp tape.  Her focal point for the layout is the photos so to draw your attention to them she has placed some Heidi Swapp tape and hand stitching at angles.

Nic has used a group of photos to form a collage on her photo, displaying all things in her life right now that mean the most to her. Among these are family, friends, her daughter, boyfriend, hobbies, as well as things like laughter, smiles and memories.

Nic has used the Heidi onsert from the For Keeps Magazine and placed it over her collage of photos, it is the start of her title. Heidi Swapp Chipboards create the rest of the title finishing it off. Nic has then stamped the dots to form a circle, and added journaling in the middle. She has used Carolees Creations patterned paper on the page to create a little more colour.

Everyday Moments - My Life - Week 2

Mel's dream is to watch her children grow up and maybe one day spend time with her grandchildren. She chose to keep this layout simple with four photos - three smaller sized ones and then repeated the photo of herself and enlarged it to create a feature. Mel then added the SEI buttons, purely because she loves buttons! Hand journaling was added around the outside of the page.

This is such an ace photo that Rachel Axton's husband took in her favourite spot in the whole world! She matched the background paper to her beanie and then just used strips of paper from the same range to layer up the background. Rach covered each of the flowers with patterned paper then added a bit of doodling! The layout is about her life where she has always followed her dreams, from living overseas in London, to owning a little beach house, to moving to Canberra to work in Scrapbooking!!! It is a reminder to always just 'go for it'.

Nic Wright has created a layout to show what she was like at 18 and what she is like now at 28. Keeping the black and white theme adds a classic look. She has used the Heidi Swapp Onsert from this month For Keeps, adding it over the Heidi Swapp Black strip to make it stand out as the title for her page. The addition of a Heidi Swapp Ghost Clock adds to the feeling of time she is trying to convey on her layout. She has also used a mixture of Scenic Route papers and Heidi Swapp rubons in the background.

The wiggling giggling of nearly four year olds makes it impossible to get a decent photo of them standing still. Right now they are slam bang in the middle of what Tamar calls BALLET STRESS - she's never experienced anything like it.  All the demands involved with rehearsals that happen all weekend and the protocol for hair and costumes. Tamar wanted to document it in a light hearted way as she is sure the end result will be wonderful - it's just getting there that is the challenge. She has used the pretty plain coloured BG LilyKate as the basis for this layout and layered Heidi Swapp Flower Silhouettes in a scattered row to create a border against the " unstructured " journaling, a direct contrast to the aligned photos.  She has also used the FK Onsert My Life at the base of the layout - the eye is drawn to it by the flower ribbon stem.

This layout purely came together because of the Heidi Swapp dream silhouette word included as part of the onsert in this months For Keeps. Marni was going to do a layout about her dreams but then she realised that there is more to her life than just her dreams so she decided to create a layout about her husbands and her dreams for the future.

Marni used a lot of different lettering styles to create this layout and the thing she enjoyed most about it was being able to include whole words like dream, love and happiness and use different alphas to create the other words. Marni also used two Heidi Swapp mask letters to create the m and w on the photo. Before this layout she had never used them before as she was afraid of how hard they would be to use but after trying them out on this layout she has decided to use them more as they were easy to use and the effect they create is different and interesting. For those who have not used a mask before you simply peel them off the backing sheet place them where you want them and spread paint over the top and peel the mask away.

A new child, a new life and a whole lot of new friends, this is what 30 meant to Caz.  She and Darcy spent a lot of time at Playgroup and hanging out with the new friends they made there. She was introduced to the Wiggles, the Hooley Dooleys and Playschool, such an exciting time of her life. Lol.

Caz chose some groovy BasicGrey papers, Basic Grey ribbon and covered a BasicGrey chipboard bracket for her next EDM page. She made her own silhouette using a transparency and Heidi alphabet. Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas, Queen & Co flowers and brads and machine sewing keep this months theme going.

Everyday Moments - My Life - Week 1

For her first 'My Life' layout Marni decided to dedicate a layout to all of the things she is, including the roles she plays and the personality traits she thinks she has. She included all of these things (17 to be exact)  by using a flower cut from a piece of Heidi Swapp 9x9 patterned paper. She then used a combination of black Heidi and pink Lil Davis rub-ons to create the words she wanted in the petal of the flower. Marni has a new found love of Heidi tape and in this layout she covered her mini Basic Grey monograms in it. To finish her layout off Marni added some Heidi silhouette words to her photos, Heidi pink jewels to the centre of her flower and of course hand stitched a border to tie it all together.

Mel chose the BasicGrey Gypsy papers as she wanted to convey a happy and bright layout to lift the colours in the photos.  Using the Gypsy Romany patterned paper added an interesting feature to the layout - Mel handcut the flowers and stem.

Her journalling reads:  Okay, so I'm not the perfect gardener, weeds poke their little heads up in my garden, sometimes I forget to water plants and I have no idea what will grow where - I just plant things and hope for the best!!  But, I do love my garden.  I love to see the bulbs come up and bloom in Spring.  So much colour and beauty.  The garden soothes me, it's relaxing to dig in the dirt and pot new plants.  We planted a vegie garden this month, let's hope it grows.

Rach wanted to keep this layout simple and she LOVED the way it turned out.  She took the photo of herself in her bathroom in Canberra,  no flash and no specific need in mind, she just had a bit of fun taking  a few different shots.  Because of no flash, the photo came out quite peachy, and for some reason that appealed to her, and she didn't  alter it at all. 

After printing it she flicked through her papers and spotted this Scenic Route paper and instantly knew she had to use it.  She loves the colours in it and they work sensationally with the photo.  She teamed it with a strip of Carolee's brown paper and a mix of SEI buttons.  She has used the silhouette word on the photo in this layout,  taking advantage of the dark background of the photo and attached it with her little xyron.

Nic has chosen this layout to be themed in "She" style.  She has added her journaling around the patterned paper as a border, making little tick boxes so she can tick them off after each dream is complete.

She has used a Heidi Swapp Silhouette as a sub-title for her layout, placing it over bright coloured papers so that it stands out.  The papers are a mixture of SEI and Scenic Route.  The letters 'She' are SEI Iron-ons, which have then been outlined in black pen to make them stand out.

                  

For this section of the EDM - My Life Tamar plans to use a series of candid photos that sums up what she sees in her everyday. This shot taken only last week is a common occurrence in her house - Sofia loves to sneak back out and fall asleep on Dadda. The only thing unusual about it is when she snapped Richard was still awake - usually he is just as asleep as she is!

Tamar has used the FK onsert silhouette as a layer on top of the photos and created a double title with the Heidi Letters - Sweet Dreams. The printed Carolees Paper acts as a second title.

         

Caz has used pastel coloured paper from BasicGrey and Carolee’s Creations to create this girly looking layout. She will be focusing on things that were happening in her life when she turned 40, 30, 20 and 10 to complete her ‘My Life’ pages for her Everyday Moments Album. The title is created using the onsert and Heidi Swapp chipboard alphabets. Strano ribbon, Queen and Co accents and machine sewing finish it off.

Everyday Moments - Seasons - Week 4

For Caz, summer is lazy weekends spent by the pool; friends and family dropping around for impromptu visits that often turn into BBQ lunches .. and then dinner because no one can be bothered to go home; floating on their backs under the stars; trying to cool off before going to bed.

Caz used the Junkitz summer multi-stripe and spring seeds papers as they are bright and summery. BasicGrey summer rub-ons were added to the Junkitz double-playz and secured to the the page with brads. The large rub-on was added to the summer sunshine paper and then cut out to form the centre of the dasiy. Caz used the Carolees onsert rub-ons to continue the seasons poem and added machine stiching to tie in with the other pages of her everyday moments album.

Autumn is really a non-event for Marni and after racking her brain for a layout idea to do with Autumn, she decided to just do another layout on one of her most favourite seasons Summer. Marni's favourite thing to do in Summer is to just hang out near or in the water preferably at the beach, so to celebrate summer (again) she decided to scrap a photo of herself doing just that. Marni has just discovered a love of scrapping with orange, and with orange being such a summery colour she used it as her colour palette for this layout with a little white and black thrown here and there for good measure. By doing this she has created a feeling of a fun, hot summer day.

Marni used little Carolee's Creations cardstock letter stickers for the little and insignificant words in her title but she found that when she stuck them down they were just not the right colour. To fix this Marni lifted them off the page and mounted them onto a piece of orange paper and then inked and painted over the top of them so that they would blend in.

Winter - snow, freezing, cold, flu, trying to keep warm, that is what winter is all about for Nic. It is her least favourite season. But when you take a photo like this one, it is hard to hate such beauty.

Again for this last seasons layout Nic has used a mixture of rub-ons - including BaiscGrey, Heidi Swapp and the Carolees Creations onsert for the FK magazine. This time Nic has added the small BasicGrey snowflakes over the top of the Heidi Swapp ghost snowflakes - which the rub-ons attach to quite easily. Nic has also used the winter papers from Carolees Creations and the word Snow is a Li'l Davis Vintage wood letter.

Tamar was supposed to do a layout about autumn - to complete the 4 seasons - but from the begining she had this layout in mind. Whilst she likes the cool change, autumn is not particularly important to her. Instead Tamar chose to do a layout about Season of Change. Tamar always thinks of change when she hears the word season.

Tamar hasn't completed a layout without pictures for quite some time but she really wanted to journal about how being a parent brings such a change to your relationship with your husband - the good and the bad about that.

Tamar loves these Carolees papers - perfect for cutting out flowers to add dimension. She used the onset from FK for the title and printed directly onto the patterned paper and then adhered the chipboard title over the top. Tamar likes the fresh look of the white on white.. and the flowers offer hope.. for the next season.

What could be nicer than having a new little great neice born in spring - spring the season of all things new and fresh. This is Bonnie meeting Mel's daughter Bella.

Mel wanted to keep a fresh, spring look to this layout, so she selected a mix of pinks and lime greens and combined them together. Heidi tape is fast becoming a favourite product of Mel's and the summer garden pack worked beautifully with these photos.

Rach totally adores this photo of Megan so she started with it and an idea to use every month of the cherryArte rub-ons down the side of photo.

So when Rach started playing with the onsert from this months For Keeps magazine, it all sort of clicked together in a bright fun collision of colour. Rach finished off the layout with one of the most gorgeous Strano ribbons and some funky coloured Junkitz brads.

Everyday Moments - Seasons - Week 3

Marni's favourite winter accessory would have to be her scarves. Although she does not get much chance to wear them as it really does not get that cold where she lives, she still has a huge collection. So for this layout she decided to do a mini photo shoot of herself wearing her favourite scarves.

Marni chose to work with two double sided pieces of Carolee's Creations patterned paper for this layout. She used one that was in cool wintery colours and a contrasting one that was in warm winter colours. The best part about using this patterned paper is that you get four patterns out of two pieces of paper. On this layout Marni also used the winter rub-on from the For Keeps onsert. She cut it up and used the word on one photo and the snow flake on another. As you are probably aware Marni loves to sew on her pages but sometims the machine stitching is not thick enough for the look she wants so to thicken the stitching up she uses the back stitch function on her sewing machine.

With this layout Rach decided to celebrate winter, and did a layout about her husband and herself. Rach wanted to keep this layout fairly simple and in theme with the colours white, brown and aqua.

Rach used a layering technique with the background papers. With the rub-ons she has used the Scenic Route Carnival letters and rubbed them onto her Carolees background paper, then cut each letter out - this gives a funky title which was also colour coded. Rach also added her favourite rub-on of the moment from cherryArte.

Mel lives in Tasmania and it's fairly cold most of the year, so when they recently had a 30 degree day in September it was a pleasant surprise. It also left everyone wondering when summer would finally be here so they could enjoy more days of splashing in the backyard under the hose.

Mel wanted to keep this layout looking bright so she combined the BasicGrey Tribal and Rom patterned papers which really lifted the photo of her son James wrapped in a beach towel. The Heidi Swapp journaling spots are perfect to use when you only want to journal a small amount for the layout.

Caz can tell when spring is in the air, because she gets hay fever. Caz is lucky it is usually only quite mild but it does send her rushing to the chemist for some tablets and extra tissues.

Caz has used the Junkitz spring bandana and seeds papers to tie in with the photo. BasicGrey rub-ons were added to the Junkitz double-playz and secured to the page with brads. The large rub-on was added to the spring plaid paper and then cut out to form the centre of the the half daisy.

Caz used the Carolees Creation Onsert from the For Keeps Magazine to continue the seasons poem.

Tamar was so excited to be able to make a layout using snowflakes! Living on the Gold Coast its just doesn't snow. Tamar adores this photo of the girls - they were about 9 months old and she had found these beautiful fluffy hats. You can see by their rosy cheeks they really didn't need them to keep warm - but they just looked so adorable.

Tamar has used BasicGrey rub-ons - just the various snowflakes from the winter rub-ons - over the background to add interest. She also pulled apart a Heidi Swapp chipboard winter theme set to create the wintery accent. The whole layout was inspired by the chipboard snowflake - Tamar was determined to get that in somehow and she is so pleased with the results.

Autumn with colours of browns, golds, oranges, really is a beautiful season. This photo is of Nic's daughter playing in the leaves last autumn whilst they visited friends in Orange.

Nic has used a mixute of BaiscGrey, Junkitz and the Carolees Creations rub-ons. Again she has created a little collage of rub-ons, this time showing that the rub-ons will easily stick to the SEI velvet papers, which Nic has cut using circle punches. Nic has also added a Heidi Swapp orange flower, folded it in half and attached it under the photo, then placed a Li'l Davis Vintage word over the top of the flower, overlapping the photo too.

Everyday Moments - Seasons - Week 2

It's no secret that Caz hates being cold. Winter to her is all about trying to stay warm. It is jeans, soft jumpers, snuggling with blankets and a good book on the lounge.

Caz used the Junkitz Fall stripe and Fall corduroy papers to tie in with the photo. BasicGrey Winter Rubons were added to the Junkitz Double-playz and secured to the page with brads. The large rub-on was added to the fall stripe paper and then cut out to form the centre of the daisy. Caz used the Carolees Creations onsert from the For Keeps Magazine to add the first line of the poem to the bottom of the page.

Usually every Autum, Mel and her family get away and go camping for a few days. This year they went at Easter time and spent time cooking marshmellows over the campfire, playing at the beach, and when it rained they stayed in the caravan and played board games or did craft (yes Mel took her scrapbooking to do just incase it rained).

For this layout Mel chose a selection of warm autum coloured papers from Scenic Route combined with a sheet of Basic Grey Urban Couture Rum Rasin for the background. Mel has used the Carolee's Creations autumn postage stamp rub-on and the word "enjoy" from the FK onsert. The Heidi Swapp journaling spots are perfect for that little bit of journaling.

Marni's favourite season is spring. She loves that it gets warmer but is not too hot and she loves that it brings the flowers back into bloom, her favourite of these being the frangipani. So for this layout she decided to celebrate spring through her favourite flower.

Marni used Carolee's Creations patterned paper for this layout and she cut the quote running down the right side of the photo out of one of the pieces. As it was pink and she wanted to place it on the pink background she cut the words out then glued them onto a green piece of the patterned paper then mounted this piece on chipboard and cut each individual word out again. She also free hand machine stitched a large flower behind her photo. Her tips for free hand machine sewing are to sketch your design first and don't worry if you don't follow the lines exactly as this adds the the appeal of this technique.

For this spring layout of Talia, Tamar has used Carolees Creations Family worn flowers patterned paper - it is so pretty - with soft words washed out over the outline of flowers. Using a variety of rub ons, Tamar has enhanced what was already subtly in the paper - creating the effect of layered patterns. 

Rub-ons are the onsert from this months For Keeps, and BasicGrey and Carolees Creations with similar themes all combine beautifully. You don't have to use a whole rub-on as it is - mix and match - only rub on partial pieces, like Tamar has done with the spring summer quote from the onset. Use the patterns in that paper as a guide for quotes - as in the flower centres ringed with a  circular quote from Basic Grey.  If you end up with part of a rub on where you don't want it -  a good quality eraser will remove it or if you catch it in time the "pokey" tool - the one that makes holes in pages prior to sewing, is excellent for removing rub-ons that are only partially stuck.

Spring - full bloom, flowers, pollen, fresh and new, these are all the things that spring means to Nic. These gorgeous flowers where a gift, so to keep the memory of them, Nic took a photo and figured it would be perfect for this weeks layout.

Nic has once again mixed up a few differnt rub-ons - including BasicGrey Spring Black, SEI spring, and the Carolees Creations onsert from the For Keeps magainze.  Rub-ons attach easily to photos, and give a great effect. Nic has also layered her rubons over the top of each other, for a collage effect.

Rach wanted to create a bright and busy layout which shouts summer is almost here!. This photo was perfect for such a layout, Megan getting into the beach in her winter clothes!!

Rach decided to use the 'frame' outside of the Heidi Swapp chipboard rubon kit to create two series of circles down the left hand side of the layout. That combined with a mix of bright colours and patterned papers, and lots of wording.

Everyday Moments - Seasons- Week 1

This is Tamar's favourite picture of the girls at swimming this season, they have only just started back. Tamar's journaling reads "You love your swimming lessons, I was skeptical, we are not a swimming family, I rarely get to your classes, So it was a huge surprise to me, how much you enjoy going, how good you are getting, and how carefully you listen. I'm incredibly proud of you".

Tamar doesn't usually scrap using large photos but she couldn't resist this one. She loves the combination of the blue walls and colourful swimming costumes stripes. Tamar has used the Carolees Creations rub-ons from the For Keeps onsert straight on to the photo. They are really lovely rubons and go on easily. Tamar has also used the "enjoy" along the patterned circles of the SEI paper. Tamar wanted simple journaling so she has used strips coloured in Microsoft Word and printed onto photo paper. Just as Tamar finished with the brads Talia came in to help. She insisted that the top brad had to be orange not blue and made Tamar take it out and change it. When Tamar asked why she said it's my favourite colour and silly it matches those pretty letters up the top and the orange circle - that's why - just do it ok mumma!

Autum is kind of a non-event season for Caz and her family. They have native plants so there are no trees to drop big piles of leaves for the kids to play in.  It's nice to get out though when it has cooled down and go for walks. Caz loves this picture of her daughter Jordan and her friend Will. Of all things they were disscussing how soft cats faces were - how cute.

Caz used the Junkitz earth floral and earth skinny stripe papers to tie in with the photo. BaiscGrey Autum Black rubons were added to the Junkitz double-playz and secured to the page with brads. The large BasicGrey rub-on was added to the earth dots paper and then cut out to form the centre of the daisy. Caz used the Carolee's Creation onsert from this months FK to add the last line of the poem to the bottom of her page.

For this layout Rach wanted to create a real spring feel, which just bursts "spring" but she didn't want it to be titled 'spring'.

So Rach used bright spring colours and stamped lots of different flowers using the Carolees Creations acrylic reflections stamps onto white card. To get this effect, colour each of your flowers using watercolour pencils, then use a fine brush, add a bit of water to each and the colour becomes so much more vibrant, but also much smoother. The stitching, title and words & stars uunder the photo are all rub-ons, most coming from the cherish life pack.

Nic has chosen summer as her theme from this first lot of seasons layout. Summer for Nic means hot and dry days - a chance for outdoor play and adventures.

Nic has used a mixture of rub-ons to create this layout - BasicGrey Black summer rub-ons, with Heidi Swapp Corner rub-ons, as well as the Carolees Creations onsert Season rub-ons from this months FK magazine. Nic has added the rub-ons in a collage effect, and over the top of the Heidi Swapp tape - which the rub-ons attach to quite easily. Nic has then added over top the small vintage words from Li'l Davis.

Since moving to Mackay Marni and her dogs spend a lot of afternoons at the beach and as summer is fast approaching she knows that as the weather heats up the beach is going to bring endless fun this summer.

Marni cut some circles out of a piece of Carolee’s Creation’s paper and mounted each one on chipboard. She sanded around the edge of each circle to keep with the distressed look and created a border along the top and bottom of her page with them.

Marni’s titles other than the photo are always the main focus on her page which means she has to use a lot of different lettering to keep each page looking different. On this page Marni has used lots of different lettering including the large Heidi Swapp ghost letters. To keep with the distressed look of the paper she sanded them roughly and then swiped paint over them. Marni also used a Heidi Swapp mini flower to mimic the sun in the top right of her photo.

Mel's daughter Bella is an outside girl, so when the rain comes, and all she wants to do is go outside and jump on the trampoline. She sometimes just sits at the window feeling sad. Mel calls it the winter blues.

Mel has used the Heidi Swapp Winter frame kit combined with the BaiscGrey Gypsy patchouli pattern paper, which was perfect for this photo which has wintery feel. Mel sanded the edges of the navy frame from the kit . The rubons and jewels provided the finished look she was after.

Everyday Moments - At Home - Week 4

Mel bought this rocking horse when she was pregnant with her first child, so it holds a special place in all their hearts. The horse is hand carved from a solid piece of wood and although a lot of people comment that perhaps they should have brought a more traditional rocking horse to keep in the family, they love and treasure it.

At the moment, Mel is a bit addictied to the new Heidi Swapp clear word stamps, so she incorporated the word Cherish into the title just so she could use the stamp! Mel has cut the Michael Miller Memories fabric paper into stars to use as accents for her layout.

With this layout Rach wanted to capture the beauty of the home garden. She kept the layout simple as the photo is stunning, and by keeping the layout simple and clean, it makes the photo jump out even more.

Rach has used the Michael Miller Memories fabric paper (which is the onsert from the For Keeps magazine) as an accent behind the main photo and for journaling strips.

Just a little note that when using Michael Miller Memories fabric, if you are writing on it, use a ball point pen as a felt tip pen will bleed slightly into the fabric giving a furry look.

Caz is lucky to have a big block of land, so there is plently of room to have plants and trees around their house. With water and time restrictions Caz has found that natives are the best option. The ones that are lucky to survive 3 kids, a dog and 2 cats must be very hardy indeed.

Michael Miller Memories Colorband Pastel fabric paper and multi tweed petals have been used as the main products on this layout. The title was created using Heidi Swapp Centre of Attention chipboard letters and Carolees Creations Love Worn black love letters. Machine stitching creates the flower stems and half a border.

This weekend for the second time in six months, Marni and her husband are moving house. So for her last At Home layout she decided to create a layout about all the boxes that have become very much a part of their lives.

At the moment Marni loves dots so she decided to use only the Michael Miller polka dot fabric paper for this layout. She used it to create two big brackets framing the left and right sides of her page and to create a double mat for her photo.

Lately Marni has been doing most of her journalling through her title. On this layout she "journalled" by using Heidi Swapp and Scenic Route chipboard letters, Heidi Swapp ghost letters and Carolee's Creations letter stickers. To add some interest to the page Marni also cut a flower and the little circles out of another piece of Michael Miller fabric.

From bills, pizza boxs, parcels, letters, magazines to junk mail, at Nic's household the mail man is always dropping things off. So Nic decided to do a layout on the amount of mail, and all the different forms it comes in for the last week of the "At home" theme.

Nic has used the Michael Miller Memories fabric paper as you would patterned paper, and then layered the photo, journaling, more patterned paper, and title over the top of the fabric. Nic has used the BasicGrey mini monograms for the title, and outlined them to make them stand out a little more. She has also added a pen border around the photo, journaling and title to tie the layout together.

Tamar has always loved this saying - Home is where the heart is - so true - doesn't matter where you end up as long as you are with the ones you love.

The half yard cuts of Michael Miller fabric are not stiffened - and are perfect for cutting out freehand shapes such as this heart. The nice thing about working with fabrics is you can do all that you usually do with paper - just with a different texture - including using rub-ons over the top. The basic grey rub-ons went on so smoothly and the self adhesive Heidi Swapp plastic and chipboard alphas stuck down easily without any extra glue!

Everyday Moments - At Home - Week 3

Marni loves her bed and her philosophy is you can never have too many pillows. Currently on her bed she has 11 pillows - only 4 of them are allowed to be slept on but she just loves how inviting and comfy pillows make a bed look. So this "At home" layout is dedicated to Marni's bed.

Marni used some Michael Miller fabric paper including this month FK onsert to frame her photo and create the background for her layout. Marni also used a new junkitz flower on one corner of her photo to create some texture and add interest. She used Basic Grey rub-ons to frame her photo and to extend the rub ons in the left hand corner of her layout. To finish this layout off Marni used Li'l Davis letter stickers with computer printed words to journal about her bed.

Tamar has chosen this weeks theme to be all the girly pink she has around the house. She realised the other day when she was searching for items to photograph that so much of it was pink. Tamar couldn't resist doing this layout - she has only just got the pink phone and wallet and they matched the theme of the layout perfectly. By layering the Michael Miller Memories fabric you can achive a lovely background quite different from patterned paper. Tamar placed a piece of Dumb Dot Candy fabric paper behind the fairy frost fabric paper to get a soft pink shine though effect. Tamar then layered tweed ribbon and tape and sewed them together using a zig zag stitch. The Heidi Swapp tag "everything pink" was the final puzzle piece when it came to inspiration for this layout.

Rach wanted to capture the first home that her and Mark bought together and the story behind getting this home in the layout.

Again Rach has used the Micheal Miller fabric in a similar way to the Bath layout (as a basic for the layout) from week 1 but this time Rach just used the stiffened fabric and not the tweed fabric. This fabric is so bright, vibrant and sparkles, it gives the layout pop even though the photo is cluttered because of their overgrown garden.

The BasicGrey flower cut from the Lily Kate range wraps around the photo, lighting up the page a little and brings the focus back to the photo.

Nic has chosen to theme this weeks layout on the yummy homemade goodies that are often in her house. Georgina loves to cook, as does Nic, so there is always something yummy baking!

For this layout Nic has used the Quickutz Machine and the Studio mini font to cut her title out of the Michael Miller Memories fabric - she used jet black and the pink fabric included as the onsert with this months For Keeps Magazine. The Quickutz cuts through the fabric paper with ease. Nic has also cut flowers using the Quickutz and Michael Miller fabric and created the centre of the Heidi Swapp Floral, joining them together with an SEI rhinestone brad. For the background Nic has used some Junkitz Fabric from the mum collectionz.

Several years ago Mel wanted something special to put in their garden that would last forever and through the different elements of nature, so she created a large mosaic tile that has pride place in the garden. Mel came across this photo a couple of months ago and knew that she needed to scrapbook it so that the story behind the tile was told. Everyday Moments "at home" theme was the perfect excuse to do this page.

Mel has covered a bookboard frame with the Michael Miller Memories fabric and stitched everything into place using a mixture of BasicGrey paper to create this layered look that finishes the page off.

For Caz home would not be classified as home if she didn't have her family around - whether they lived in a caravan or a castle, it just wouldn't be the same with out them.

Caz has used the Michael Miller Memories Colorband Pink fabric paper, some Michael Miller krystal petals and tweed petals. The title was created using Heidi Swapp Centre of Attention chipboard letters and the Carolees Creation Love Worn natural love letters and black love letters. Machine stitching has been used again to keep in theme with the rest of Caz's Everyday Moments layouts.

Everyday Moments - At Home - Week 2

Marni and her husband love to cook together, so it was only fitting that one of her "At Home" layouts be dedicated to the kitchen and the food that comes out of it. In this particular photo Marni was in the process of making fresh pasta.

Marni has developed a love for buttons over recent months and with the fabulous  colours in the Michael Miller Fabric she could not resist adding some SEI buttons to her page. She used them to frame part of her photo as well as filling in some unwanted space and balancing her layout. Marni used Michael Miller fabric flowers to soften and continue the fun feel of the layout. Her journaling on this layout was done using the Li'l Davis Rub ons.

Mel wanted to capture some little snippets of her daughter Bella's room, so that in years down the track Bella will be able to reflect back and remember some her favourite things, and see how much her tastes have changed. Bella's quilt and doll were handmade by her Nan and Mel wanted these to be a feature of the page, so she enlarged this photo and placed the title over the top to draw the eye to the photo and title.

Mel added a scattering of Michael Miller Fabric Flowers down the side of the page to create a border and enhance the girly feel of the layout. Mel has used BasicGrey Lily Kate paper and some Heidi Swapp tape, as well as Heidi Swapp Plastic letters for the title.

With this layout Rach wanted to document their move back to Melbourne and how the physical house in which they live is not what defines home to her - for Rach it is the people contained within the house that mean and define home to her.

The layout is kept simple to focus on the story. Michael Miller stiffened fabrics are great because you can cut them to any shape and they will not fray unless you tear instead of cutting, allowing you to control the way they appear.

This pretty much sums up the McLachlan house. Though as Caz's girls are getting older their "toys" seem to be more sporting gear and less Bratz related. Jess, her son, on the other hand seems to have more toys than the girls ever had combined, and like most boys, he's not real fussed on putting them away.

Caz has used Michael Miller Colourband pink fabric paper, as well as some fabric petals. The title is created using Heidi Swapp Centre of Attention chipboard letters and Carolees Creations Love Worn black twill letters. Machine stitching creates the flower stem and a half of the border.

This photo is of a space in Tamar's expedite in her scraproom filled with books - the colours are quite eclectic as to be expected so Tamar dulled the colours down in photoshop to give a older world feel to the photo. Tamar searched the quote garden to find a suitable quote for her layout rather than journal about how much the books mean to her. The quote stamped around the edge sums that up quite nicely. Books are not made of furniture but there is nothing else that so beautifully furnishes a home.

The Michael Miller fabrics are so easy to work with; already stiffened just like a 12x12 piece of paper - beautiful to sew and add great texture to the page. Tamar has built this layout using Tweed cotton and ribbons to achieve the pieced background look.

The Dining room - a hub of chatter and get togethers in Nic's household - all dinners and most breakfasts are a family sit down at the table - where the days events are normaly talked about.

Nic has used a mixture of fabrics from Junkitz, Michael Miller Memories and some SEI velvet to create a warm feel for this layout. By stamping onto the fabrics to create a little pattern she has kept in theme with the dinning room, and earthy warm feel.
