weekend inspiration: fontwerks

Christmas ranges dont always have to be exclusive to the festive season. Jaimie has used the Fontwerks Deck the halls paper to create this LO of her son on the eve of his eleventh birthday. This range of papers was subtle enough to not eclipse the main photo and the subdued colour palette suited this boyish page. Jaimie kept her title, journaling and embellishment cluster to a minimum by using a mix of Fontwerks stickers and BasicGrey Wassail stickers, chipboard and brads.

Sometimes our kids just won't co-operate with us taking photos! When Nic captured this photo of Madeleine, she knew she needed to create a fun and bright layout to go with it. The Simply Neat line by Fontwerks was the perfect backdrop for this gorgeous photo and the stamped wording adds to the fun and energy of the page.

Nicole started off by scalloping the pink paper to soften it and then she cut slits down the side and threaded a paper 'ribbon' through. The result is a gorgeous backdrop for the photo and the title in green was the perfect balance.

Caz has used the Fontwerks Boho Labels in Solid and Warm to create journaling points about the 7 things she loves about her Son Jesse at 7 years of age. She printed the words on them using her printer but found that as the labels are shiny the ink did not set. A light dusting of Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder over the words and the whole thing held over the toaster (minus the photo) and the embossing powder set the ink and left the words nice and glossy.

 

 

Carole decided to create a layout with earthy tones and these pattern papers from Fontwerks were the perfect match. Carole stitched, distressed and inked the papers and then added simple but very cute embellishments, with dimensional work.

       

We are absolutely delighted to showcase the following Fontwerks layouts by Jill Sprott. Jill live on the beautiful island of Ohau in Hawaii. We love how she uses different ranges of Fontwerks in many different ways. Every layout, I'm sure you'll agree is simply stunning. Thankyou so much Jill.

Love the warm colours with this gorgeous photo Jill.

Jill used the pattern on the subject's top as inspiration for the funky arches along the border and the little handstitches are the perfect finish.

A fabulous photo and journalled in a way that perfectly fits with the theme which many of us can relate to Jill.

Jill can make the Fontwerks work perfectly for her new photos, old photos, child photos and adult photos. Her work is a wonderful example of how well these ranges adapt to so many layouts.

Every girl loves Bling and the lovely scrapworks shimmer shapes were the perfect embellishment to go with Fontwerks new Roll Out range of papers. Jaimie has cut down the Roll Out paper for a less is more approach on her LO about her wedding anniversary present.

 

 

More layering - this time Jaimie has used the reverse side of the Fontwerks Swish range of paper. Again randomly placing the paper over her background and adding stickers in a cluster as a corner embellishment. Jaimie has also used the 'pop out' pieces from the Scenic Route chipboard letters in here title as another cute addition to her cluster. Handwritten journaling finishes off her page and gives a more personal touch.

 

 

 

Jaimie layered the three sheets of Fontwerks over her background paper to frame her photo and title. With random placement of her paper she has created a fun feel to her page with the addition of Grungeboard flourishes, Fontwerks stickers clustered together and both stickers and chipboard for her title, Jaimie's page certainly has that wow factor.

 

  

 

The Fontwerks Keen range of patterned papers are simply fun, bright and happy - stunning for a wide range of photos and events. For this layout Mel has punched large and small circles from a variety of the Keen papers and combined them with a selection of photos and journalling strips.

 

  

 

Mel has combined some Fontwerks Keen patterned papers and Playful cardstock stickers with a mix of other products (Queen & Co, Heidi Swapp, Jenni Bowlin, Scenic Route and Basic Grey) to create this fun and cheerful layout from a family event. The cardstock stickers are fabulous to add on your pages and very versatile!

For this show, FontWerks is pleased to announce that we are expanding our line to include these newest products:

With names like black ledger, pink ledger and school ledger, the Write Line range lends itself perfectly to school photos. In this layout Mel has also included a splash of Heidi Swapp number tape, Heidi Swapp alphabet stickers (in black and white), a Basic Grey bookclip (perfect for school layouts) and the rubon is by Hambly Screen Prints (vintage motifs, black

 

 

Of course this line of papers doesn't always need to be for just school photos. There are some beautiful pinks, blues, oranges plus more funky colours in the range that work so well with everyday photos, as Mel has shown here with these little snapshots of her son and niece Bonnie.

 

 

And The Write Line papes show even more versatility in this layout by Suz Doyle.  The divine photography was by the talented Raylene Wilkinson and who could argue that this little mite is anything other than cute as a button. 

Suz  has teamed the Write Line papers up with Cosmo Cricket's Buck Naked chipboard buttons, and the stamps are from the Fontwerks Fresh Foliage II pack.  The alphas are the really cute Elsie Flanagan Polka Dot clear acrylic set.

 

 

We would like to thank Fiona Carter for sharing with us this layout of her daughter Phoebe playing the euphonium. Fiona has used the Write Line papers to cover some chipboard letters and swirls and we loved how she has mixed up the papers for the title. Such a cool layout!

 

Another awesome layout by Fiona Carter showcasing the Write Line papers. Notice how Fiona has completed her journaling in strips and then the last word of the journaling has been highlighted for large title - what an awesome idea. 'Simply happy' by Shawn Ellars is just wonderful in it's simplicity.  A gorgeous photograph, simple strips of Fontwerks Hey Ladies patterned papers and some interest added with the cut out circles.  She has used the Fontwerks George Outline clear acrylic stamping for her title.  Thanks Shawn for sharing!

Weekend Inspiration: Fontwerks

Mel loves the Fontwerks Hey Fellas range of patterned papers, they are so boyish and fun to work with.

For this layout Mel machine stitched her papers into position and added a splash of Heidi Swapp decorative tape over a chipboard star as a feature on the layout. SEI brads were added down the side, one in each centre of the circles (Hey Adam patterned paper).

Summer photos are taking over Nic's desk right now, so when she saw the Tokyo range of papers by Fontwerks, she knew they'd be perfect.

The bold colours and fun shapes create an energetic feel to any layout, as shown in this layout about the beach.

Suz used a mixture of Hey Fellas and Hello Ladies papers in this cute layout celebrating the nightly story reading to her children.  She has outlined which square with white pen to give it a visual margin and made a flourish of beads to draw the eye to the photo.

With this layout Rach wanted to add all the pretty spring colours to the layout without making the layout busy or distracting to the photo.

To do this she used her quickutz and a large square die cut to punch squares from the different patterns then arranged them around the clustered photos. Giving gaps around the photos she has avoided creating a boxed in look. And to finish she added some fun little Basic Grey rub-ons and some journaling.

When we were browsing galleries for Fontwerks layouts, this one jumped out. Fontwerks 'simply decorative' paper was used as a base with various other 'Simply Neat' papers completing the look.

Who could resist a face like this?! This layout spoke volumes to us as soon as we saw it. We were drawn to the simple yet fun energy in this layout and loved the use of the Fontwerks alphas.

Weekend Inspiration - Fontwerks

This week we end off with a range of layouts using the yummy Fontwerks collections - from papers to stamps and even rub-ons! There is no dout that these ranges are wonderful! We are also lucky enough to share with you a layout by Anna Langpap - the designer of the New York, Tokyo and Milan collections.
