Donna never really learnt the art of stamping and has always admired those that have! It takes a certain level of creativity to combine the skills of papercrafting and stamping, in her opinion. For Donna, this was a challenge, but one that she was keen to take. After ordering a selection of alphabet stamps, inks and paints and after hours of experimenting she decided that sometimes the best techniques are just using the product in the simplest way!! Here Donna has combined several alphabet stamps to create a mixed font title and date. To emphasize the title itself, she has messily hand-drawn around the stamped word 'home'. The result is slightly 'arty' and almost free-style in nature.
Now that Donna has taken the first step in her stamping journey, you'll be sure to see more ink on her future layouts!
Whether you stamp directly on your project or on to cardstock and cut out, alphabet stamps are an easy way to say what you want on your project! This bookmark is another one of Nic's favourite projects. Pink Paislee Vintage Pop alpha stamps on Pink Paislee papers, paired with Heidi Swapp Chandelier Crystals (and a pair of her hubby's pliers!) make this a quick and effective project.
This is a layout you may have seen before as it is one of Nic Howard's favourites. Nic had this layout on her wall next to her desk for a few months when she decided to add more to it! To add some extra bright pop to her layout Nic pulled out her Pink Paislee Vintage Pop alphas and stamped them on Aussie Scrap Source white cardstock. She then cut around them and adhered them to her layout.
The white balances against the high contrast photos beautifully while Pink Paislee, Sassafras Lass and SEI papers collectively make a fabulous background combination.
Mel used the Fontwerks George Outline Stamps to create an eye catching title for her Christmas layout. The alphas were inked with black ink, stamped onto the page and coloured in with a selection of Heidi Swapp pencils.
Technique Tuesday's Provence alphabet stamps are truly one of Suz's all time favourites - you may have noticed them on several layouts recently. She loves the roundness of the font and the detail of the flourish within each letter. One of the greatest beauties of alphabet stamps over chipboard or sticker alphabets (apart from the fact that you can use them over and over again and they never run out!) is their versatility - you may not have a set of alphas that perfectly co-ordinate with your layout, but you can make a stamped title any colour you like.
Here Suz has stamped on white cardstock with an olivey-green inkpad, and embossed each letter with Holographic Embossing Powder, which seemed to Suz to suit a layout about the infamous midsummer music festival held in England each year.
Stamping on transparencies gives you the freedom to place the transparency anywhere on your layout, to decide what works with your design. Here Steph used the Technique Tuesday Calamity Jane alpha stamps and stamped them onto a Hambly transparency. You need to make sure that your transparency is secured on your desk top because things can become very slippery during the stamping process. Steph used Staz On Permanent Ink, so the image would not bleed or fade once stamped.
Suz and Steph have both used beautiful Technique Tuesday alphas, and we thought we'd focus on their amazing range of alphabet stamps in a special gallery. We thank Eileen Collins of Technique Tuesday and her design team for allowing us to share some many stunning layouts with you. The name of the stamp font is listed underneath each layout for quick reference.
