It's not often you'll find Nic H throwing all photos aside and creating anything multi media, but this is one of those times! Nic spent time looking at Tim Holtz's blog and after she'd seen some of Tim's amazing tags, there was no stopping her.
The base of this piece was created with a canvas, old tissue, gesso and paint. Tattered Angels glimmer mist was used to add the blue colour.
Nic then worked on two pieces of white cardstock with Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamps to create the 2 focal pieces.
On creating a base for her focal point, Nic looked at a box she was using to spray glimmer mist into. She ripped it apart, pulled a little of the outer layer off to expose the texture, added a little paint and it worked wonderfully. Nic then added grungeboard treated with various Tattered Angels glimmermist colours to her canvas to finish off, but not before adding a few curls of paper created when she ripped that box apart.
We love the versatile images from the Tim Holtz stamps and it's obvious Nic found them inspiring also!
The Teresa Collins stamps included in the Stampers Anonymous range are practical, versatile and perfectly suited to a wide range of layouts.
For this page, Mel has used the Teresa Collins Notepad stamp, creating individual diecuts for her page by stamping the design onto kraft cardstock before hand cutting out and adhering. The centre stamp holds part of her page title and the other two were just right for journaling the story behind the photo.
Tip: Stamp up an entire page of designs, ready to be cut out and used as needed.
Using Ranger distress ink Chris has created a background pattern with the flower stamp from the Stampers Anonymous 'all about art' stamp set. She has also stamped the sentiment from the stamp set directly onto a Crate Paper die cut.
Chris has put together a tutorial here to show you how she created this card. Click here to check it out.
Chris used a Hero Arts pink note card and stamped the dot background stamp from the Stampers Anonymous 'all about art' set directly onto the card using Top Boss embossing pad and then sprinkled Hero Arts white embossing powder over the dots and heat embossed. She did the same heat embossing technique with the flower from the stamp set and cut it out from the paper she stamped it onto and then adhered it to her card for this lovely effect.
Stamper and mixed media artist Sue McGettigan (who also happens to be an Aussie girl that now lives in California) has so kindly shared her talents with us today to explain in pictures and words some wonderful and different ways you can use Stampers Anonymous stamps.
For these two sets of monogram tags Sue has used Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection - Psychedelic and Ranger distress inks.
Instructions: Apply Distress Inks to a craft sheet, spritz with water using the Ranger mist tool, then dip the circles from Psychedelic Grunge into the ink, mist once more and stamp on tag. Spritz the ink on the craft sheet again and press the blank side of the tag into remaining ink until you're happy with the pattern and coverage. .
Stamp the stars randomly using Distress Ink. Stamp the monograms on colored cardstock and use a variety of punches to frame the monograms. Use a variety of ribbons and fibers to finish the tags
Sue also says "I use these tags as gift tags and birthday cards, they have a longer life than the average card because they're also bookmarks, there's plenty of room on the back to stamp a sentiment and write your messages."
Sue also generously shares instructions for this card: Apply distress inks to craft sheet, spritz with water using Ranger misting tool, then dip tag into ink, repeating until you're pleased with the pattern and coverage. Using black ink stamp the journal text border and astrolabe from World Traveler, tear an additional inked tag and ink the torn edge with more distress ink DTP.
Adhere the torn tag edge, spray the tag and the flower with Tattered Angels Glimmermist, then attach the flower using a vintage brad, and the teabag tag to finish.
For this effect Sue suggests: Place masks on pale blue cardstock. Apply Broken China Distress Ink using Tim Holtz ink blending tool, remove smaller masks and apply Frayed Burlap Distress Ink around the edges, blend a little towards the center of the card before removing the larger clock mask. Stamp birds and text with black ink.
I'm sure everyone will agree that Sue's creations and instructions are very much appreciated and inspiring! Many thanks Sue!
A big thank you to the lovely Rachel Greig for sharing this set of beautifully constructed Artist Trading Cards with us here on the blog. Rachel has used two Stamper’s Anonymous stamps on each card, both of them by Tim Holtz. The main text has been created with a 'garment district' stamp - we loved how Rachel turned the text into journaling strips, very cool !!
Thanks so much to Anna-Karin Evaldsson for sharing her beautiful 'hello' card with everyone. We were instantly drawn to Anna-Karin's transparent background and we loved how she created the background with Stazon ink and a swirl stamp.
The scalloped circles were also stamped with various background stamps and the card was finished off with a little bit of machine stitching. Stamp Supplies: Hero Arts swirl stamp and Stampers Anonymous swirl.
We love the new Tim Holtz stamps by Stampers Anonymous. Tim has allowed us to share several of his own creations showing just how easily the images can be turned into something wonderful. Take a shipping tag, add distress inks and Tim's new stamps with a few extras and there you have it! Thanks for sharing the tags, Tim!
