Suz decided to take the theme of the Studio Calico range ‘State Fair’ quite literally. She had unscrapped photos of a visit to the Royal Melbourne Show in 2008, and had kept the family entrance ticket which she incorporated into her page, using it as a title.
Many of the State Fair patterned papers are larger bold designs, which are actually better than small patterns on a busy, photo-filled page as long as they are used in small doses, so Suz went for a colour blocked design. She loved the ferris wheel patterned paper and incorporated a narrow strip across the top of her photos.
Nic utilized the journal box print (Library) as is, by using it as a mat. Once it was down she added the "Phrases" rub ons as journal prompts. They are beautiful quality rub-ons that apply easily.
The title was made using Studio Calico Wood Veneer alphas. They can be inked, dyed, misted, painted, coloured with pencils, crayons or chalk, or even covered. They are completely versatile as even raw, they are beautiful.
This layout was again designed by Lynn Ghahary. The colours of the Countryside collection by Studio Calico are so soft and sweet and they were the perfect backdrop for these newborn photos of Lynn’s sweet niece Gia. Lynn’s favourite patterned paper from the collection is the honeycomb paper. Lyn cut a strip of this paper and used it down the centre of the page accenting some of the honeycombs with stickers popped up with dimensional adhesive.
Lynn applied the gorgeous butterfly rub-ons to vellum and added these to the wood veneer butterflies. The perfect accent for this soft and feminine layout. Thanks again Lynn for sharing your beautiful page.
This lovely bright page was created by Lynn Ghahary. When Lynn first saw the State Fair collection by Studio Calico, she was reminded of the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey where she and her family vacation every summer. One of Lynn’s favourite things on the boardwalk is the food of course! Lynn used the gorgeous ferris wheel patterned paper as the base for her layout and built different ‘blocks’ around her photos with various other patterned papers, stickers and embellishments.
Lynn loves how the bright colours of the many food stand signs along the boardwalk are reflected in the vibrant colours of the papers. Thanks Lynn!
This gorgeous layout using the Elementary range comes from Diana Waite. We love how Diana has utilized several of the patterns from the Elementary range plus she mirrored the colour palette by misting some self-created star masks. She also mentioned that she has been getting her photos printed at 2" x 3" which allows her to fit more photos on a page without overwhelming the product. Thanks Diane.
This gorgeously designed layout was created by April Yap of Singapore. We love the use of varying sized photos and button accents. The result is really lovely, thanks April.
