Jill took inspiration from the wonderful vintage portraits contained in the Paper Stash and used to to create a story. She has featured a quote from one of her favourite movies "Cider House Rules" to show to passage from a difficult childhood to manhood.

Sue loved the Tim Holtz District Market Butterfly Burlap Panel. It took her a while to work out what she wanted to do with it. Eventually she decided to add layers directly onto the canvas, thereby creating a piece of wall art. Sue has used distress markers to add a little colour to the butterflies and has also stitched sequins and beads to the images. Sue also used the Hanging Sign and Tattered Florals Tim Holtz Sizzix dies to create some of her embellishments.

Janine loved working with these Tim Holtz papers and embellishments. She chose to create a layered background and then add some messy paint over the top of the blue paper for added interest. Then she proceeded to layer circles and die cut grungeboard. Janine ran the grungeboard through her sizzix machine using a Tim Holtz embossing folder and then ran it through again using the Tim Holtz Gears Die and Flourish die.
She then painted them with white gesso and finished them off with some iridescent medium for a shimmery effect. Janine also painted all of her Tim Holtz metals with white gesso to fit her "winter wonderland" vision. It does take a few coats for really good coverage but the results are so pretty. To finish off the winter wonderland theme, Janine used a large and small Martha Stewart snowflake punch and added a Prima flower center to the middle for even more sparkly goodness.
Leeann just couldn’t wait to get started on this project. She knew exactly what she wanted to do and had been waiting for just the right moment. So when Leeann was given this assignment to work with Tim Holtz products she screamed with delight!
When it comes to Tim Holtz the possibilities are endless there is so much you can do on the page or off. Leeann fell in love with the door knobs film strip and she just LOVES the die plates that make those fabulous paper rosettes, this was the point of inspiration for her – Paper Weights.
She put her DH to work and had him cut some blocks from timber posts. Leeann then sanded and primed each bloke with gesso. Adhered pattern papers and used a decoupage to seal all the papers. Then she simply arranged and adhere all the embellishments in place.

Louise W adores everything Tim Holtz creates so when given the challenge to make something using his products it didn't prove difficult! His metal designs are an absolute favourite and their detailing adds the finishing touch to any layout or off the page project.
She started with a configurations box, which she covered with Tim Holtz printed masking tape and hot glued the boxes into position, pulling some of them out slightly for interest. She then added ornate feet, keyhole charms, door knobs, wings, a crystal and some film strip as ribbon. She tied the look together with some Twiddleybitz chipboard and Prima flowers and now has a lovely family keepsake with a slight steampunk edge.
Jane used the Tim Holtz idea-ology Paper Stash crowed attic paper with the lady designer pattern on it and salvage stickers. She then created a flower using Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine by die-cutting flower petals, scrunched them up and applied Tim Holtz distress stains on top for colour.
Jane also coloured Tim Holtz white trimming with the vintage linen distress stain to age it, then added a trimmed Adage ticket 'Adore' to finish it off.
Jane created a jewellery set for a very special friend using Tim Holtz mini bead chain, facets, Paper Stash crowded attic butterfly paper in small squares and the Epiphany Crafts shaped studio tool round 14mm, settings and a collection of butterfly and keyring charms. The package has enough ball chain to create the necklace and the bracelet.
Louise spotted this tag by Anna-Karin Evaldsson and with all the lovely stamping, cogs and inking it was obvious that Anna-Karin is also a big fan of Tim Holtz. Louise particularly liked the use of the new Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine paper for the cogs. Thanks for letting us share Anna-Karin!
Another tag that Louise spotted in the galleries was this amazing mixed media creation from Roberta Cardoni. Roberta's used a selection of Tim's inks as well as a mask and the new corked vials to create a stunning piece of art with a definite nautical feel. Thanks Roberta!
Finally, we thank Sarah Schwerin for allowing us to share these beautiful bookmarks. We loved the background stamping details. These would be a beautiful addition to any book. Thanks Sarah.

Louise loves to create her own backgrounds, so these textured Tim Holtz stamps are just up her creative alley - so to speak!! With both this layout and the card she was able to compliment the pattern of the 'pattern paper' to suit her design ideas. With the layout Louise has also used the stamped image as a background to highlight her photo. And with the Card she has used the stamped image as a background to highlight her heart embellishment.
One of Suz’s favourite ways of capturing the essence of her son and where he is at now is to record his conversations, either with her or with his friends. She sits working in the living room when he chats and sometimes just types as fast as she can to get snippets of stuff that she thinks is made of pure gold –the stuff that takes up space in the minds of nine year old boys.
And because he’s nine, she can’t get away with cutesy layouts any more. But the Tim Holtz ‘Number’ Cling Mounted stamp was actually deemed ‘sick’ enough to be used on a page that represents him. Suz has created a background with different coloured Distress inks and adhered her journalling strips over the top. And though a My Minds Eye ‘Best Buddies” title block was rejected as not cool, she got away with the ‘You Are Here’ and the Tim Holtz star metal adornment.
Finally fresh from Tim Holtz blog there are some of his newly released stamps from CHA. There’s some fabulously themed cling mounted sets which can lend themselves to some wonderful creative uses. We love how Tim has incorporated his metal game spinners, philosophy tags and film strips into the tags along with the stunning blending and stamping methods he’s such a genius at.

This year Suz has added another piece to what is slowly becoming her ‘Tim Holtz Christmas corner’. Last year it was his Tree of Life that kept her fascinated, this year it’s one of his Configurations – it’s a shadow box whereby you can move around the boxes until you find the ‘configuration’ that you need. Suz painted the insides of each box with white gesso. She Glimmer Misted plain white sheets of paper in gorgeous tones of Starfish, Turquoise Blue and Olive Vine. Not satisfied with the solid Glimmer Misted look though, she added a second coat of Mist over a Crafter’s Workshop template, to create a subtle pattern.
Though it could really be themed for any time of year, Suz generally only allows what she affectionately terms as ‘dust collectors’ out over the Christmas period. Because these Tim Holtz Configurations are much deeper than a printer’s tray, for example, Suz decided that she needed proper little three-dimensional pieces to go into the boxes, and so she set about handmaking all the Christmas themed bits you see.
The gorgeous little Christmas tree above was inspired by a Martha Stewart project (only in miniature) where you stack gradually decreasing squares of paper onto a spike (satay stick), topped with a Jenni Bowlin pearls and sprinkled with glitter. She made the snowman from two white wooly pompoms and gave him bling eyes, nose and buttons, ribbon for a scarf and a top hat made from a Jenni Bowlin chipboard button and then black and grey buttons piled above each other.
Her daughter helped too, wrapping bits of styrofoam in the tissues that she used to mop up the Glimmer Mist spray, to make presents. Her daughter also had the brainwave of putting two red Queen & Co half pearls together to make holly berries, and cut out some holly leaves.
Just one of the beautiful things about these Configurations is that you can hang items in a box and attach them from above. The holes Suz pierced to hang the crystal and the button wreath are both hidden by the box above them.
This gorgeous little wreath is actually one of the new Pink Paislee Artisan Circle Elements. How fun is it scattered with tiny bling and half pearls!
The Girls Paperie old fashioned alphas made a simple but perfect statement in the midst of the busy-ness of the rest of the boxes.

Iris loves everything Tim Holtz. But since TH products have deep rich tones, she has to find a way to make it fit her girly pages. Here she combined Lost and Found papers and several metal embellishments with stamper's anonymous and added tones of pink by adding Prima flowers and pink mists and paint.
Well Louise's scrappy heart did miss a beat or 2 when she found that she was going to create with the new Tim Holtz Ideology paper and embellishment range!! Well who's wouldn't?!! Louise has created some layouts with a difference; but isn't that what all Tim Holtz products inspire you do do??? First up Louise has created a rectangular layout using one of the non-patterned papers from the Retro Grunge range.
To get the effect you see she has sprayed the cardstock with water, crumpled it, straightened it out, and then inked the folds, and when dry added a drop or two of Glimmer Mist.
For this particular layout Louise has sewn around the border with some string, just to give the grungey background paper a bit of a 'visual lift'. The added masking tape, which has also been inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, adds some grungey 'funk'!
To add something a 'little different' to this layout, Louise has created in a 6 x 12 format, and added large WeR Memory Keepers eyelets and a string hanging tie.
This final project is a very masculine take on gift tags, with a difference! With the line of Ideology embellishments Louise just couldn't resist creating some special gift tags for some upcoming Fathers Day gifts.
Louise adores the Tim Holtz range of products and was able to achieve this gorgeous modern vintage look with minimal effort! Starting with a plain box, she covered it with some Lost and Found paper, stamped it with various Tim Holtz stamps and inked it liberally with distress inks. She then added a strip of the tissue paper and a strip of the filmstrip to continue with the vintage feel of the box.
The ornate plates, swivel clasps and locket keys added the finishing touches and look right at home nestled amongst clusters of silk flowers. A perfect keepsake to store old photos, movies or memorabilia in.
This amazing layout was created by Irene Tan who is one of the wonderful design team members who create for Tim Holtz [lucky girl - LOL]. Irene has used the cool "Lost and Found" paper stack and tons of embellishment from Tim Holtz idea-ology, look at those close ups, doesn't Tims range of embellishments Rock!!!!
Thank you very much Irene for sharing your amazing Tim Holtz creativity!!!!
For this beautiful card, Robin has again used the Tim Holtz Lost and Found papers for her base, adding a sophisticated and non-gender specific appeal.
Finally, siiiigh!!!
Aren't these Tags Incredible!!!! They have been created by the amazing Dina Wakeley, another design team member for Tim Holtz [another lucky girl - LOL]. Dina has used a wonderful assortment of Tim's stamps and distress Inks, to create the most amazing and vibrant tags!
Thank you so very much Dina for sharing your wonderful creativity with us.

When thinking of metals, Kathie tends to conjure up images of rich, masculine pages. But they look great with pretty feminine pastels too. This page documents a year’s worth of Facebook status updates. Kathie was amazed at the story they told when she printed them all out. She’s printed out the phrases onto neutral paper and collaged them into the background of the page.
A 7gypsies metal page edge at the base of the layout lends the page a solid base and provides depth of colour. These page edges are extremely easy to use and can be bent with your fingers, and cut with scissors. Kathie has hung a metal key from a pretty piece of sheer ribbon next to her photo. Finally, she’s used metal wire to thread sweet pink and clear beads across the layout at various points.
Suz has used an eclectic blend of metals in this layout, full of little details you may not notice at first glance. She has used the same 7Gypsies scalloped page edge as Kathie, though she has used it to ‘crown’ her photo, and has added further colour and texture to it by punching an eyelet through each ‘scallop’. A Tim Holtz Philosophy tag ‘Listen’ provides the perfect opening to Suz’s plea to her local ice cream van. Her journalling, for those who enjoy the stories, is printed simply on co-ordinating BasicGrey Kioshi papers and reads “Please stop coming around so late on a Thursday night. Some time Saturday afternoon would be lovely and i’d be nearly happy to pay your $7.00 for two cones. But all sugared up that late on a school night is just wrong, and i’m tired of being the bad guy who says NO all the time. Regards, their loving mum. March 2010.’
On the left hand side Suz has made use of TPC Studio’s gorgeous Framed Domed Stickers. These have metal backs and clear epoxy domes so that you can customise them to work with your layout, adding patterned paper, photos or even whole little vignettes inside one. Suz has turned one into a stylised clock to reinforce the theme of her layout.

Tim Holtz has done it again !!! Now you can create your own masks like the one Steph has done here. The Tim Holtz Mask packets comprise of 2 plastic masks and a protection sheet that you can use to protect your mask once it is cut. In this layout, Steph photocopied a dress form and enlarged it to the size that she thought was suitable for her 8.5 x 11 layout. Once she was happy with the size she placed it under the mask and with a permanent marker traced around the image.
Steph then cut out the image from the mask. Once she had finished cutting the outline of the dress form she was left with a positive and negative mask to use in the future. One was the solid dress form, the other mask was left with the positive image cut out of it. Next Steph picked up the negative image and placed it on her patterned paper.
She sprayed the mask with Tattered Angels Patina Glimmermist and then patted dry with a paper towel. Steph then removed the mask and was left with a gorgeous image on her base of the original dress form. Using the mask on patterned paper is a beautiful way of filling the empty image with pattern. These masks are easy to use and its a wonderful way of having your own custom images to use as masks.
The new Tim Holtz sprockets are really cool and so perfect for bike layouts! Mel has hand-stitched the sprockets onto her page, directly over the top of some Lil Davis shipping tags. A little bit of red bling (hero arts) was then scattered across the layout to add a splash of colour.
This is one of the details from the 7gypsies Printer Tray created by Suz, but we’re sharing it again here to show how to use Tim’s ‘Hitch Fasteners’. These little doorknob shaped bits of metal Suz has had in her stash for a while, but it wasn’t until she was looking through Tims’ 12 Tags of Christmas that she finally figured out what they were for! The perfect thing for hanging anything on a jumpring from, like Tim Holtz keys or these beautiful 7Gypsies crystals.
And remember Suz’s gorgeous Tree of Life from the Christmas post? She didn’t put it away after the festive season, it’s still sitting proudly on her sideboard, and can be themed for other occasions through the year – in fact it was the holder of a dozen bright yellow tissue paper flowers for her daughters recent birthday party. For now though, it holds little nic nacs and tags and handmade pieces of art.
The above is one she has made for a friend’s Tree of Life (this could be a great idea for a future swap…!), using Grungeboard alphas and elements which she has painted and then Glimmer Misted. This technique works so well on Grungeboard with the Glimmer Mist settling in the embossed areas. Tim Holtz Foliage was also painted and Glimmer Misted, and the Philosophy Tag and Bead Chain was sanded back so that the brighter copper colour showed through the patina.
This layout my Patti Hamill is just gorgeous. She has used Webster's Pages Winter Wings as her main patterned papers and Tim Holtz's Flourish mask as a gorgeous accent. The way she has applied the soft pink mist over the mask has really given the layout and youthful, soft feel. Thanks Patti for sharing your beautiful work.
Ali Russell has a beautiful style when she scraps, and she has demonstrated this with this gorgeous layout entitled " a moment with you. Ali has used Tim Holtz Clockworks Masks on the side of her layout, and layered them with transparency and machine sewing to give the layout texture and interest. I just love what she has done here. Thanks Ali.
A couple of fabulous samples from Tim Holtz – here he uses the new sprockets, metal numbers and other hardware – sometimes these tiny embellishments are just the touch you need to finish off a project.

Nicole made a few happy discoveries when she was creating this little sketchbook using Grungepaper. The first lovely discovery was the ability to lightly emboss Grungepaper using Glimmer Screens by Tattered Angels. She sandwiched the Grungepaper with a Glimmer Screen then packed it tightly with extra paper before rolling it through her embossing machine using thin die adapter plates. She used the "Crown" Glimmer Screen here on the outside flap of her book.
She also discovered that Grungepaper has a slow absorption rate which means that you can spray heavily with Glimmermist and then lay embossed paper towel gently on top. This absorbs the puddled ink and leaves the pattern of the embossed paper towel on the Grungepaper making a really gorgeous finish.
Grungepaper is also fabulous for tearing, sewing and pleating, yet tough enough to last as a book cover and just as flexible as Grungeboard.
Louise had to confess that she had never used Tim Holtz grunge paper before; grunge board yes! but not grunge paper. Well after this 'creative experience', she has found a new 'to die for' product love!!! She was blown away with its versatility and as a result could not stop at just one layout and created 3 as she tried out a variety of techniques and effects with it.
For the layout 'u Rok' Louise saturated the grunge paper with glimmermist and left it to dry under a fan heater. What evolved was, as the Grunge Poard and Glimmer Mist dried, it buckled and allowed the Glimmer Mist to pool and dry in just the most fabulous crazed and crackled effect, which Lou then used to fabulous creative effect with her grungey rock like layout.
With this layout Louise had a bit of an oopsie that turned out to be a bit of a creative bonus. She often will run her Glimmer Misted backgrounds through a laminator as this helps to flatten out the buckling caused by the Glimmer Mist. However with the Grunge paper it proved to be a little to thick and started to buckle, she then had to take the laminator apart to rescue her grungepaper. She loved the 'folded up' effect of the grunge paper so much she used it as a decorative element of her layout.
The idea for this simple, grunge like, but elegant layout, came together as soon as Louise coupled the photo printed on acetate, onto to the plain background of the grungepaper. It required minimal embellishment as the greyness and the surface texture of the grunge paper with the photo, conveyed the message and intent of the layout perfectly for Louise.

Chris put together some photos from a recent road trip with her family to create this lovely 5x7 Grungeboard album. Inking the Grungeboard element shapes using Colorbox Chalk inks and covering the pages of the album in SEI Dill Blossom papers, Chris kept a unified look throughout the album. She said the Grungeboard element shapes inked up beautifully and made terrific subtle embellishments for her album. Chris particularly loved the Tim Holtz journalling tickets which made writing down a few notes on the pages very easy. And the Adage tickets where great for pages where Chris didn't want to journal but wanted to convey a sentiment.
Carole created this very delicate blue and white layout using Tim Holtz Grunge Paper, and Grunge board Elements Stripes. The softness of the blue and white with the hint of black and the pretty Grunge Paper flowers is just beautiful.
Carole also used Tim Holtz Destress Ink "Broken China" for the touches of blue on the layout. Carole also embossed the Grunge paper and then inked over the top of the embossing, Carole did the same for the cut out flowers and Grunge Board Elements.
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "Pearl" was sprayed over the layout to give it a slight sheen, and finished off with a couple of stamped butterflies using Pink Paislee Clear Stamps, and a little lace.
Suz created this layout using BasicGrey papers and lots of Tim Holtz’s gorgeous circle Fragments. Each ‘bauble’ received a different treatment, from backing in patterned paper and glittering to inking and Glimmer Misting. If you look carefully you can see the stitching running from the top of the page down to each Fragment to create the bauble’s string.
Suz used Grungepaper to create these lovely flower cards. Inspired by Windy Vecchi and her fabulous flowers, she first stamped onto the grungeboard with Stazon. They were then handcut, coloured with Distress Inks and Glimmer Mists and adhered to Heidi Swapp Invisibles cards. The fabulous Metal Foliage she has used can also be found in the Tim Holtz range.
When looking for creations using Tim Holtz products where better to go than the man himself! We are just awe-struck by this AMAZING grungeboard bracket album Tim has created! How fabulous does the ornate plate look amongst all the grunge accents that Tim has so expertly distressed?!!!
Thanks Tim for WOWing us with your work!
Audrey Underwood created this very unique creation with the Tim Holtz Grunge Paper, and as you can see the beautiful detail in this project is amazing. Audrey also used Grunge board - Stripes Elements, bookplate, Hambly pattern paper, Tattered Angels Glimmer mist – combinations of Graphite, Tattered Leather and Frost and Black cardstock.
Audrey did a transfer onto the Grunge paper (Little Girl) and then used her beautiful antique style to embellish this beautiful project, thank you so much Audrey for share this gorgeous project with us.
The lovely Jennifer Sweatman shares with us these three stunning cards created using various Tim Holtz products including grungeboard and distress inks. Here's a little word from Jenn on using Tim's products -
"Working with grungeboard and grungepaper is SO fun. They both take distress inks like a dream and are easy to shape to create dimension. Because it is thinner, grungepaper is ideal for stamping and cutting out small or intricate shapes- it is just like cutting cardstock and adding mediums like paint, stickles, glossy accents etc. is no problem because grungeboard and grungepaper are super sturdy."
Jenn, thank you so much for your stunning creations!
Really thinking outside the box we have this amazing mobile phone holder created by Mascha van Dijk Zimmerman. Mascha shows us that grungeboard goes way beyond just being used on scrapbooking pages. We love your innovation Mascha - THANK YOU!

Not only are a variety of shapes, numbers and alphas available in Grungeboard, but there are whole albums available too. Nic Howard has started with a Tim Holtz 6x6 Bracket Grungebaord album here. She has used Glimmer mist and Glimmer screens along with word stamping to create a unique album for her son. We only show one set on inside pages here but Nic has used the Basicgrey Periphery paper along with Grungeboard elements (and you can't keep her away from that Glimmer Mist) to fill the whole album.
The main Tim Holtz element that Steph wanted to play with was the new release Nature Grungeboard. Steph painted her bird white, allowed it to dry and then applied a coat of Mod Podge. While still wet, Steph sprinkled Pink Paislee Pixie Stix in Coconut all over the bird. After that had dried off she added the white sequins and then started to decorate the tail.
First of all she started with the lighter fuschia colour versa cube and inked the tail. Then she added the darker almost red versa cube and rubbed it into the Grungeboard to blend. Once the ink was dry she then applied the Basic Grey Rub Ons to give the bird a unique, bright and colourful style which complimented her layout beautifully. The grungeboard was fantastic to work with, pliable and easily absorbs the ink and paint application.
Steph used the Tim Holtz Concerto Mask, laying it on her base cardstock and spraying with Pink Taffy Glimmer Mist. She then got a old tea towel and dabbed the colour into the cardstock so that it had a smoother look rather than a speckled appearance that Glimmer Mist tends to give (you can also simply use a tissue). Once the Glimmer Mist was dry, the mask is so easy to peal off, wash and place back in its packaging. A design as versatile as this music note one can be used again and again with a completely different look and purpose each time.
Carole created this gorgeous little note box, for all the odd notes that you don't know what to do with, but are still important. She used Tim Holtz Seasons Grungeboard, which is so versatile. Carole used the cat and the lantern for a Parisian feel.
Carole lightly sanded the Grungeboard, then applied Black Ink, giving it several coats. She applied dimensional magic to the ink which gave it a shine and added some gems for the collar on the cats neck. Carole then teamed BasicGrey Urban Prairie pattern papers and Chipboard which enhanced the black finish on the Grungeboard and gave the project great colour and depth. Very yummy!
Caz loves the Tim Holtz Grungeboard shapes. They are so versatile, you can do just about anything to them. On this layout she has transformed the heart by painting it with red acrylic paint and then spraying it with Graphite Glimmer Mist while the paint was still wet. Both paints swirled together creating a sparkly grungy effect. Caz then painted the skull black, sprayed it with the Glimmer Mist and added some evil red eyes to match in with the heart.
Tim Holtz is truly one of those inspired artists who makes you want to create, just by browsing through a few of his projects. Here are some recent ones using masks, plenty of Grunge Board, the gorgeous Fragments and a handful of his new metal products. Enjoy...

we know that grungeboard comes in a variety of fabulous designs and alphabets, and can be used fabulously and effectively on cards and scrapbook layouts. but we wanted to explore the very limits of this versatile product, and so we challenged our design team to come up with new and amazing ways of using the grunge. they have explored ideas for using the full sheets of grungeboard as well as the die cut alphas and shapes.
we hope you enjoy what they came up with - i know i did!
This mini-purse is the perfect little spot to hold children's little treasures. Donna made this one for her youngest daughter who loves to pack small toys and jewelry whenever they head out of the house. The fact that it is made from Tim Holtz new Grungeboard, means that it is extremely sturdy and flexible. The material itself is not unlike leather and Donna says that had she more patience, she could quite easily have stitched the sections together with plastic or leather cord.
The unique 'leather-like' quality of this new product could actually lend itself perfectly to a whole plethora of similar projects. With bucket loads of free downloadable templates all over the web, the possibilities are literally...endless!
Many scrappers have asked why grungeboard is better than chipboard - for Jaimie the answer is easy - grungeboard's unique ability to take the toughest treatment and still look good. For this reason Jaimie decided to create a keyring embellishment for her car and house keys using the large grungeboard alphas. After mixing some paint and crackle medium and allowing the project to dry she then sanded over the swirl design and edges to give a shabby feel.
Then Jaimie covered the letter with a thin layer of Dimensional Magic to seal the paint effect and then once dry she added some Basic Grey sugared metal brads. Since adding the letter to her keyring Jaimie has had several people asking where she got her leather "J" - cant do that with chipboard - nice
Mel also wanted to create something to show the true flexibility of the Grungeboard for this challenge, so she had a go at sewing this little Cosmonaut Devil. She adapted the pattern slightly (out of her 'Softies, 22 friends for you to sew, knit and crochet' book) to fit the sheets of Grungeboard, adding a Basic Grey Archaic chipboard sticker on the Cosmonaut's suit and some Basic Grey buttons for eyes. The Grungeboard sews beautifully (much nicer than stitching through chipboard she reports) and was very easily stuffed (with a mix of stuffing and newspaper). A splash of paint and our new alien friend was finished and ready for his photo shoot.
Carole made this Princess Skull Jar for her daughter's hair bands.
Carole loves the Element Stripe Grungeboard and she used it in several ways. She painted and glittered and inked grungeboard shapes and also applied rubons onto the grunge as well as on the jar itself. Carole also used dimensional magic and still curved the grungeboard around the jar without cracking the dimensional magic.
Carole used Carolee's Creations Love Pattern Paper as a base for the grungeboard, being black and white it worked really well. She also used Heidi Swap bling circles for added glitter.
With this example, Nic covered the Stripe Grungeboard with Pink Paislee paper and pressed firmly to ensure good contact between the paper and the liquid glue. By lightly sanding over the patterned paper, Nicole was able to give the projects a wonderfully worn feel as the sandpaper picked up the ridges of the grungeboard.
Nicole made this cute little photo folder by machine stitching pieces of covered Grungeboard together and hinging with layers of paper. She finished the front with Cherry Arte Morocco rub on letters and a Heidi Grace ribbon tie.
This idea would be a wonderful gift idea or a nice way to present photos to a friend or relative, and was quick and easy given how easy it is to machine sew through Grungeboard. The flexibility of the board also allows you to bend pockets inside without the risk of tearing like you would find with normal chipboard.
Nicole was so impressed with the leather-like qualities of Grungeboard that she thought it might be fun to use it just like leather.
With addition of a few fabric eyelets, a D-ring and some leather thonging, Nic was able to create this funky necklace that would be perfect for your favourite teenage (or older) recipient! She covered the Grungeboard skull with CherryArte paper and then sprayed with red Glimmermist before punching with a Crop-A-Dile and hanging on the D-ring.
Grungeboard would have to be one of the most versatile products on the market. Folding, distressing, painting, inking and misting are only a few ideas to alter this remarkable product. The best thing would have to be that no matter how 'brutal' you are with grungeboard it always bounces back. A little crackle medium and paint create a lovely vintage look to the grungeboard elements on Jaimie's page, once dry she rubbed an ink pad over the embellishments to give that extra 'pop' to the crackle.
Suz can't get past Glimmer Misting her grungeboard. She loves how the glimmer settles into the crevices of the embossed grunge. In this layout she sprayed the Alpha Stripes with three different Glimmer Mist colours - Watermelon, Pearl and Kiwi and both inked and outlined the edge of each letter. She then intertwined flourishes from the Elements Grungeboard pack into and around the letters which is so easy to do given the Grunge's unique flexible properties.
Your local scrapbooking shop is bound to have some Tim Holtz Grungeboard in stock, so go check it out. If they don't - ask them to order some in for you!!
